Semi miss: this weekend I used SM purification mask ( my usual prepoo) and afterwards I cleansed with As I Am Coconut Co-wash. I don't think this was a good combo because the ends of my hair felt rough. This is a testament to both products because they cleanse so well, but I should of known better. Lol
I had a similar effect with that mask and cowash. I stopped using the mask for a while and finally used up the last of it by prepooing and doing a light shampoo with a shampoo bar. Only way I'll use it in the future.

  • Airdrying with only castor oil: OMG, my hair loves it. I used to think this oil was too heavy for my fine, medium density hair but the key for me is to use it sparingly on damp (not sopping wet) hair. The softness and moisture lasts for days! I'm sold
  • V05 Moisture Milk conditioners: The ingredients aren't as natural as I'd like but the slip is amazing and I like that it's a light product. I may co-wash between washes using this one till I find a more natural and effective option.
  • LOC moisturizing method adapted to my fine, medium density hair: I thought this method would leave me with weighed down, stringy and greasy hair but I found that I just had to use lighter products (lighter oils and lighter creams or a hair lotion instead) and it works fabulously for me. I only have to remoisturize my hair twice, at most, a week now. Pure bliss!
  • Protein conditioning more frequently: I'm learning that my hair thrives off of protein, like A LOT. I heard it loud and clear. I will be implementing it into my regimen more frequently. I will monitor my results but I really think that I could use Aubrey Organics GPB conditioner every other week and my hair would flourish.

I used the As I Am coconut cowash by itself yesterday it was ok.

Pros: my hair felt clean afterwards
It detangled my hair
It is economical
My hair had a lot of volume

Cons: my hair felt slightly stripped especially to the ends
My didn't feel as moisturize afterwards
This product is not fully natural

Overall the product is not bad, but I don't think that I will repurchase. I got better results cowashing with VO5.

Mega Miss:
Ouidad Melt down mask. OMG this is the worst conditioner I have ever used. Putting it on my hair felt like sandpaper. I left it on for 10 minutes and my scalp started to burn. Rinsed it out and my hair felt like I had just rinsed it with bleach. I had to clarify and re condition my hair. That's it I'm done with Ouidad. I don't think they pH test their products. I bet the pH was too low. Sending everything back for a refund. Hate that I have to pay for shipping.

BTW, the oil cleansing shampoo didn't clean my scalp and made my hair feel moisturized but not soft. Not my cup of tea.

Curl Recovery curl prep. An ok product going on wet, but when my hair dries, it's a gummy frizzy mess.

Hit: Swimming with a swimming cap while my hair is twisted underneath.

After I was finished swimming, I rinsed my hair and co-washed with the twists still in, then added a moisturizer and let it air dry overnight. My twist-out was just fine in the morning. May Hits & Misses-imageuploadedbycurltalk1369666698.803341.jpg

Hit: Soultanicals wrapper's delight hydrating kink drink. I love this so much more than the juices and berries. This actually hydrates my hair. Other refreshers leave my hair sticky but I don't have this problem with this one. Leaves my hair soft and moist and the smell is very pretty. I got a sample but seriously considering purchasing a full size bottle of it.

Well stranger things have happened. I like the Ouidad moisture lock leave-in and the Hydrafusion Curl cream. Nice soft shiny curls. I think this will be my summer combo.
