Default Am I 3b/4a mix?

I'm having trouble figuring out my hair type, but I will say I have trouble styling it because I feel like I have 2 completely different curl patterns in my hair.

What advise could you give someone dealing with two different curl patterns that aren't separated from each other, but actually are side by side all over my head?

This is my hair with no product in it. The very front of my hairline curls up real tight when I wet it. Will my hair look horrible looking grown out since I have very tight curls next to loose curls?

Well, the very front of my hair curls up tight when it gets wet / it doesn't get longer, it actually gets shorter. I also have those same exact curls sprinkled all over my head, it just is hidden because my looser curls look longer and I think cover them up.

Is it possible that you have heat damage? If so, that would explain the different curl patterns in your hair.

Thanks guys. It's not heat damage because I don't use heat on my head, I could see why you might think that but my hair is just very frizzy naturally. Well, honestly, the frizziest part of my hair is my looser curl pattern, my tighter curl pattern curls up real tight together and clumps very easily (and it's more silkier feeling), but my looser curls are just sporadic and always make my hair look frizzy. Maybe I'm not moisturizing it right since I think my two different textures require two different types of handling? My hair is just weird.

Your hair looks as if it is the same texture, just different curl patterns, which is common among curlies. Make sure to add moisture and that should help with definition. Also, a little gel will help with definition.

I think it looks like 3b/3c, but you might have to wait a little longer to let it grow a bit to be sure.

It will look beautifully unique!! Just like mine.. Just like every curlie!!

I wish my hair was the texture and pattern it is on my lower left side. My life would be so much easier.

Instead, it's all different textures and patterns. But as it grows it will become more unique and interesting.

Enjoy it!!

I agree w/MCC (MC Squared? ). It may end up being a texture salad (not in a bad way).

Do you co-wash? If you don't already, that might help make your hair look healthier. Get the feeling it'd be easier to type your hair if you maybe add some more moisture to your routine for a bit. Maybe PTs followed by heated DCs, or maybe just DCs alone might help.

Have you used any chemicals on your hair? I know you said you haven't applied heat, but I agree w/others: it does look like there's some kind of heat or chemical damage. Saying this in case you may have forgotten you got a chemical or heat service. Also, I trashed my hair a while back from too much developer in some semi-permanent dye I used and it looked like your hair in this pic. So, do you recall dying or bleaching your hair?
