My hair won't hold a curl

I love my curlformers. But my hair has a less then 48 hours hold on my curls. I've tried gel and spritz but it doesn't work. Am I a lone? How long does your curls last?

Is your hair naturally straight? Most here have natural curls so use curlformers or rollers to relax their hair rather than to curl it.

No I have type 4a coily hair. I've never heard of curlformers straightening hair when it's advertised to curl hair without heat.

What do u do at night to preserve? Is it humid where u r.?

I put on my satin bonnet. It's not humid yet. I'm not sure what it is. This is also the reason I stopped flat ironing my hair, because it never stayed straight.

hmmm... I dont know about using curlformers but I have the same problem with braid outs, twist outs, and other styles like that. What works for me is keeping my hair in the braids for like a week and my hair comes out so much better and defined. Obvi you cant keep curlformers in for a week but idk thats just my tip.

But my twist outs and Bantu knots last forever

One way to make lemonade is to take advantage of the cf stretch for very elongated to's and bo's. My hair is so dense it takes a million cf to do my hair the regular way. I two stand twist then put my twist in cf. I prefer this because I can lightly mist at night and not care about reversion. I have never figured out a way that works to moisturize my hair as a rollerset or cf set since my hair needs water every day. But my braidouts after a cf stretch are beyond beautiful.

I find that I have to use the tighter Curlformers to get them to last longer and even then the curls don't last long :(
