Shaping High Shrinkage 4a Hair?

Like Tree2Likes

If you're adamant about cutting it, then get it cut into layers or a bob but keep in mind that styles like ponytails and puffs may not be even. Otherwise, try picking out your roots with a wide tooth comb, afro pick, or diffuser to give the top and crown more volume so that it won't look "boxy".

Beautiful hair!!!

I havent had a real deal cut since my bc. For a while my looked weird as it grew out because it is uneven. I thought about cutting But I found out wearing a low bun ponytail at night gives me better shape. I never flat iron so that can make shape and evenness a bigger issue.

Lol my hair does the EXACT same thing; I think we might be hair twins (except your hair is much longer). Maybe it's just more noticeable because you don't have as much length keeping it "down"?

I got a Deva cut last week and for some reason the day I went to the salon my hair decided to shrink up the most I've ever seen it! Then after she applied the Deva products it just fro'ed out with zero curl definition. I stayed somewhat calm because I figured it was the products and the way she combed through my hair; sure enough my hair is back to normal, tangle free, and the shape is good.

It all depends on the weather, whether I comb or fingerstyle/rake, and products.

As far as being "too flat" have you tried clipping to get root lift? Or you could take the top layers and diffuse them in the opposite direction. So flip the right side over to the left while diffusing and vise versa.
