Sally's "Naturally Silk Elements" hair line...what's it copying?

I recently saw and purchased a few products from the Naturally Silk Elements from Sally Beauty supply and I'm wondering what real brand is this copying?

I know a lot of Sally brands are knock-offs of other brands. Like their now discontinued Mixed Silk line was obviously copying Mixed Chicks. But I was wondering what the Naturally Silk elements was copying and if it was worthy trying out the "real brand" if it's better?

(Also, does anyone else have a sucky local Sally's that doesn't really care much hair products that cater to your hair type? Mine barely has anything for curly, kinky, or ethnic hair, other than a few Sally brands and a bunch of mineral oil-based pomades and stuff. I like buying my hair care in person so I can actually smell things because I am picky with scents. But I feel like I don't have a huge selection to chose. I'm in Canada, so maybe that's why....)
Hair type: Mostly 3C, medium porosity to high porosity depending on the day, dense, fluffy, dry, tangly!

Silk Elements is a brand of Sally's in general but I'm not sure that it's "copying" another brand. The original line is called Silk Elements and their Naturally Silk Elements products is supposed to be catered towards those with curly hair.
Shampoo: Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine
Cowash: Curls Unleashed No Restrictions Conditioner
Deep Conditioner: Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque
Leave-In: Curls Unleashed No Boundaries
Oils: olive, argan, and Jamaican Black castor oils
Thank you!

To my knowledge they aren't copying anything. Its just a reformulation/rebranding of their mixed silk line which they got in trouble for with mixed chicks.

Ah, okay. I liked the Mixed Silk stuff a lot, so it would make sense that I like this stuff a lot.

I have two Sally's in my area, really 3 but I have never been to that one. The one closest to my house is da bomb as far products as catering to naturally curly hair. The only thing I hate is they stopped carrying the Roots of Nature Curl cream I love.
they have 4naturals, aphogee curliffic, Beautiful textures, shea moistutre, eden bodyworks, as i am, jane carter, dr. miracles, dark and lovely, the new custards from Smooth and Shine, oRS, jbco and more.

This Sally's also has lines you don't hear about as much. and the other day I saw a new line but I can't remember the name but it centured around some African oil I never heard of. I will go back and check.

Honestly, I rarely shop at any bss anymore than Sally's. I don't feel bad about not supporting the "locals" either because most of what they seem to carry is weave and relaxed products. or stuff full of mineral oil which I can't use. So I am not their targeted clientele. I got a free container of the Naturally Silk Elements cream custard when I renewed my Sally's card. It was the only thing in the line that the ingredients would work for me. I don't love it but it works pretty well.

I live in a predominantly white area, so that must be why my local Sally's doesn't have a whole lot for curly or kinky hair.

I bought the Cleansing Co-Wash, Leave-In Conditioner Cream, and the Curly Cream Gel.

I really like the co-wash. I wouldn't use it as a daily "quick rinse co-wash," like I would with my Tresemme conditioner, but it's a great mid-wash reviver for when it's not wash day but you kind of feel like washing your hair but don't want to do the whole pre-pooing deep conditioning routine. I like it better than the Curls Unleashed co-wash.

The leave-in is okay. Nothing spectacular. I prefer the Curls Unleashed leave-in or Giovanni.

The gel, however, is horrible. White flakes galore, even when I use it with the Silk Elements leave-in! At first, I thought my hair was full of build-up, but I tried other leave-in and gel combos, and they were fine. I can only use a little bit of this stuff before I get white flakes, which sucks, because I like big dollops of gel for wash'n'gos. It also doesn't define or tames the frizz. I'll probably save this gel for when I'm just wearing a bun and don't need a lot of styling products.

The reason I don't love the gel is for me it speeds up buildup which I'm prone to.. I typically avoid PVP because it tends to make my hair sticky and need washing sooner. But my hair doesn't hate it like silicones and mineral oil. And I was getting a free product so I felt I needed to get something. I ended up just using it ti slick edges and puff after not being happy with it throughout my hair. I use TN for my li and the two played nice. No flaking.
Yeah, too much PVP is bad news. I've been using a lot of gel lately. I think I need a PVP break!
