I recently got a bottle of this & it's one of the worst things I've ever put in my hair ! Made it hard crunchy, dry & hard to comb. Had to wash it out. I've read numerous other reviews by folks who had the same experience. I hate to waste money by tossing it so have any of you had this experience & managed to mix it with something that would make it work? Please let me know if you have.

Hair type 4 "mystery"
Fine, soft hair with little penspring curls of different sizes. Small patch of wavy hair at center of my nape. Did BC in 2009 after 28yrs of curly perms.
Products:WEN Fig, KinkyCurly, QhemetBiologics, SheaMoisture, Vatika oil, EVCO, EVOO, WGO, JBCO products
The vanilla leave in is protein all you need to do is spray a little..however get a moisturizing leave in and apply it to your hair on top of that. What leave ins do you have?

My hair hates Oyin Honey Hemp but the price made me relunctant to shave with it. I started mixing a little in in my homemade dc of oil, banana, honey and moisturizer conditioner and it's doing okay. I think it's because whatever ingredient my hair does like is more diluted.
I also stupidly bought the CD BV Leave-In at Target for $11. If my receipt hadn't faded, I would've taken it back the next day pronto.

As it is, I use it to "scent" my hair. Since I use SM Curling Gel Soufflé and other creamy/tacky leave-ins occasionally with lighter scents, the vanilla from the Carol's Daughter Black Vanilla Leave-In spray works fine. I pump the spray nozzle into my palm about 2-3 times and scrunch on the ends.

It's a shame I cannot use this for any real purpose.

Odd story, I used NOTHING but CD BV LI one day to do a wet roller set one night before work. AWFUL HARD lumps of hair in clumps where I removed the rollers.
And on that very next day when I went into work (eager to wash it out when I got home), a friend who works in my building stopped me in the hallway and told me, "Oh, your hair is getting so long now!" Then she reached out and grabbed a clump. Of ALL THE DAYS to want to touch my hair, why did she pick the day that my hair was hard-as-rocks from an awful leave-in?? It always annoys me that that's how she will perceive my 4c hair now lol.
