When Growth Hurts

So my scalp has felt tight and sore in some spots the last few days. I have dealt with this issue on and off for years even back in my chemical days. Usually that would be about the time I would run for a retouch. Part of me thought it was new growth making my scalp hurt but then I thought that's crazy. How can you growing your hair hurt? I decided to research and couldn't find anything on CT but Then I found a few threads on another site that show I'm not the only one. Anyone else have this? sometimes it feels like someone is pulling my hair. Sometimes gentle. Sometimes hard. I keep massaging. I know my hair is growing a lot because I hennaed my roots two weeks ago and need a retouch and my nails are growing like weeds so I had to chop them off.

Yes. Same with me. It's not an itch or irritation. More like a tightness/soreness and only in some sections. I was all over the Internet trying to figure out what scalp condition I may have that causes this but now I think it's just "growing pains" because I don't have it all the time just when my hair is in a really big growth spurt like it is now. I have only been using the pads of my fingers. No oils or anything. I would oil my scalp when I was recovering from hair loss but now I only do it during my hot oil treatment before a shampoo as it can sometimes cause we get flakes. I don't do a lot scalp massaging during my cowashes. I had wondered is looser curled people experience this or if this was because my tight coils are trying to pop through those tiny follicles. Now I know not just kinkies.

I have even thought it was my scalp gunk up but I didn't had any sign of flakes or crust or something.
