4a hair type? newbie need product suggestions

Hello, I just big chopped 2 weeks ago and I'm trying to find the right products. I am unsure of my texture/porosity as of yet, and am having issues with dry hair. I co wash 3 times a week. Deep conditon almost every night, and I do the LOC method every day also. The products I currently use are: tresemme naturals conditioner, shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie, coconut oil, eco styler gel, and shea moisture co wash. I also uploaded a photo of wet hair no product and dry hair with product. Sorry no dry without product. Thanks!

Until you work out your hair properties suggesting products isn't going to help you.

So I suggest you work out your hair properties.

However if you hair is really dry then I would suggest use a pre-poo, clarifying shampoo than deep condition.

A good pre-poo is coconut oil. If you go to sleep with coconut oil on your hair than wash it out the next morning your hair should be more moisturised. You don't need to go mad with the oil. You just need a light coating. Link here on how to do it

While are using a lot of these products already the fact you don't completely wash out any of your products means that you could be suffering build up. A lot of getting your hair moisturised is not just the products you use but how you use them. Styling products often build up and other people on here have reported that SM products build up for them. So avoid using SM for styling and see if your hair is less dry.
Well based on the products you are using and your regime the problem could be protein related especially if you are combining the smoothie with the gel. Both have protein in them. Plus it seems like you are doing way too much your hair with the deep treatments, cowashing and LOC. I am also going to say coconut oil is very penetrating and while some people can use it for a prepoo or as part of their sealing routine others can't use it at least without having another type of less penetrating oil in the mix like olive oil. If I were you I would start slow and switch out the coconut oil for something like olive oil or grapeseed oil and see how my hair reacts. Then stick with one protein item either a curly girl approved non protein leave in conditioner or a protein free gel. Then stop doing so much to your hair . Also the LOC method doesn't work for everyone you can try the LCO method to see if that gives you better results.

Rather than go out and by new products, you may already have products that can work, just need to alter how you're using them. First, I would say that deep conditioning once a week should suffice. Also, since your hair is shorter, see if doing the LOC method with just your Tresemme conditioner, oil, and gel works. You may discover that your hair responds better to a simplified regimen. Just experiment with what you have first before breaking the break with new products that still may not work. ☺
