March Hits, Misses & Goals

List products that worked for you, were complete disasters, as well as any goals (length, moisture retention, etc) and challenges (castor oil, protective styles, etc.) you are working towards this month.
Thick mid-length 4a hair
Shampoo: Creme Of Nature Moisture & Shine Shampoo
Cowash: TRESemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner
Deep Conditioner: TRESemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner mixed w/honey & olive oil
Leave-In: TRESemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner
Sealants: olive oil & Blue Magic Conditioner Hair Dress
HIT!- totally liked the Shea Moisture Coconut Hibiscus Curl & Style Milk
been using it as my only styler lately. no need to refresh for the whole week. People have been asking me if my hair was done recently. LOL using this. So sad that this was recently rediscovered in my stash.
-Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Leave-In- this is the best leave-in ever! So moisturizing and smells so good.
Well,...

Trader Joe's Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo and Conditioner was definitely a big fat miss for my 4c hair. Worked wonders for my 4a/3c friend, but not me. Which sucks because I LOVE the nice, affordable price of $2.49 each.

A Hit was wearing my hair in kinky twists since the third week of January. Didn't have to do anything for February but moisturizing spray and scalp gel/grease/etc... I took them out but don't have the 7 hours time to put them back in.

Disaster: my current haircut. The sides and ends are a 70s shag, while my bangs are thick and shaped. One of the shag sides is feathering and has to grow out, while the other is already too long and has lost shape and just looks limp. And, my stylist just had a baby last week and will not be back until sometime in May, so.........I will have the pleasure of enjoying this idiocy for weeks to come.

Yay, me!

Miss: I tried a flexi rod set with 'Frizz Ease Clearly Defined Gel from John Frieda' because a friend of mine swore by it. I did not use a lot of product and watered it down quite a bit, but it still came out like a crunchy mess.

Hit: I started with hair banding after every washing. My curls stay longer defined now don't tangle up that fast and I can style them more easily. Which is awesome for so little work.

Goal: I should probably trim my ends again. I have seen a few split hairs.

Hit: Umbererto Gianni Curl Friends create a curl

The ingredients indicated it would work. I also needed something I could take on a flight in hand luggage, this was the right size and all that I could find. The only thing is the full size bottle is 7 (approx $10.50) so I won't be buying it for everyday use.

Also Miss:
Kenra strong hold 25 hairspray: even a small can is not cheap, and mine is blocked after just a few months.

Miss: that premenstrual need to cut my own bangs.

Hit: having them fixed afterward by a nice stylist.

Still deciding: Kiss Curl Wand, for those of us who cannot manage a curling iron no matter what; A/G Hair Putty, to define well-cut bangs.
