Hello, yesterday I blow dried my 4c/4b hair after my hair was 90% dry. I straightened my hair after on the lowest heat setting which was around 280-300. Before I straightened each section, I applied the Shea Moisture Thermo-protect milk. What I'm worried about is the fact that while I was straightening each section, there was steam coming out my straightener (My straightener isn't a steam straightener) which was obviously from the heat protectant. I heard that hair can boil, so I'm slightly worried. Is this normal? I only passed on each section twice and my hair didn't straighten much. I have a deep fear of heat damage and this is my first time straightening my hair in almost 2 years.
