Has anyone tried ...

the new Extreme Curling Gel by Lottabody's Tress Tranzitions line.
I found it in a beauty supply in L.A. I'm not sure what I would compare it to but it's a liquidy, slippery gel. It's also moisturizing which I LOVE!
The ingredients seem pretty friendly which is one of the main reasons I purchased it.

I never tried the discontinued Jojoba Jelly by kinky-curly, but from other's descriptions of it, they may be similar.

I haven't tried this product but I have Aubrey Organics Hair Jelly which is also similar to the jojoba jelly.

I haven't tried that, yet. I just started using Oyin's Shine & Define, though. I am no longer a product junkie and am surprised I tried this new product after using my old routine products for a couple of years.

I tried it when it first came out and I didn't really like it too much. It made my coils hard and it seemed to mash them together instead of accentuating them. I'm sure I might have liked it more if I threw some almond or olive oil in it.

msjoker:
Aubrey Organics huh? I'll have to take a look at that one. Is the AO Jelly
a liquid type or more jelly type?

An Akasha:
I've been using the S & D too :) I like how it softens and is so light in the hair. I actually had someone do a few flat twists with it yesterday to see how it would look as a twist-out.

semperfemme:
wow, it made your hair hard?! I usually layer it on top of something else because I get chicken to try new products alone on clean, 1st-day hair - I know I won't want to re-wash if I don't like it. I know some products stop working after using them so I'm hoping the moisturizing effects are not short-lived. I do remember it kind of foaming a little when I applied it, the way bar soap does when it starts to lather a bit. So far, it's working okay - not ready to send it to the graveyard yet.

thanks for your responses ladies ~

It's more like liquid with a bit of jelly. It's orange and I can't really describe the smell but it smells kinda like flowers. I use it on my hair after washing and my hair is soft.

OKay so that's what I did wrong. I currently use Fantasia IC's silky gel activator and I put a moisturizer on under it. DUH! Of course it would have been better to do the same thing with the Lottabody. I think I'll give it another shot, this time with some kind of moisturizer. I tried it on clean (did I mention dry) hair.

Thanks!

I've tried it...I had a similar experience to semper...it didn't make my hair hard, but the curls weren't very defined. Maybe I will try to layer it with the V05 Strawberries and Creme (like everyone recommends to use w/curly custard)...

Extreme Curling Gel...

I've tried the Extreme Curling Gel...
The first time I used it, I was in L-O-V-E! I Immediately thought of all the cutesy ways to add it to my signature as THE holy grail! I went to the store and bought 4 bottles. The next time I used it, it made my hair foam up....kinds of sudsy. For no reason at all. Never have gotten it to work since.

When it did work, it made my hair soft and defined the curls but because of the softness, the curls ended up meshing to each other like potato salad (for lack of a better visual). It also didnt help with shrinkage.

There is a matching shampoo that is supposed to "prep" the hair. Didn't do much for me. Nothing curly enhancing or magical about the shampoo so just be wary of falling into that trap.
