When's Your Wash Day?
I look forward to my wash day because I get to pamper my hair and give it tons of love. What day do you devote to your hair. During the week I wash quickly and don't give my hair the proper love it needs. My wash day is Sunday.

Re: When's Your Wash Day?
I'm 3c, not 4a, but I feel exactly as you described above - I LOVE wash day and I spend hours on my hair. It can vary but is usually Saturday so I can look good for a night out, and church and family the next day. If I am performing on a Friday I'll try to do it then. Ironically it actually looks best a few days after washing so my best hair is always on Wednesdays, when I should be washing for good weekend hair if I were to have time.

I know what you mean by the "quick wash" throughout the week.
My wash day is either Friday or Sunday.
Sometimes, it's both because I do alot of trial and error on the weekend so that I can hide my face from the world if it all goes awry.
I'm trying to get into doing a deep treatment on the weekend but I'm still having a bit of a time finding a really good one that is both reliable and convenient.

I try to shampoo my hair every third or fourth day. I use pomades and styling cremes so I have to clarify often.

Any day of the week.
I used to be restricted to the weekends because I liked to do a DT after each wash, but eventually I had to give that up and instead aim to do a DT every 2-3 weeks.

Sunday is the super wash day (deep con and any experiements) and Wednesday is the regular wash if needed.
Regular wash is needed if I used lots of styling products
I con rinse daily tho.

i conditioner-wash every day... makes my hair soft and shiny. but
i put Saturday as my wash day because that's when i actually bust out the shampoo. Saturday involves pre-treating my hair with conditioner and sitting with it on my head for 15 minutes, then washing with shampoo, and adding more conditioner to detangle (the only time i'll use a comb on my hair all week) before doing a final rinse in cold water. sometimes i'll band my hair after detangling, then rinse and let my hair stretch as it dries. when it's 80% dry i'll blowdry it out for a bigger fro.

I conditioner wash everyday and shampoo on Saturdays. I'm trying to use up the rest of my shampoo so I can try out the CG routine.

Saturday is my condish wash day. I do a quick wash during the week usually on a wednesday. If I think my hair needs it, I clarify once a month.

I have a question. Those of you that do "quick washes" or "cond. rinses" during the week, does that mean you don't detangle and stuff? What exactly is your "during the week" routine?

In the morning I comb my conditioner through my hair with a VERY wide tooth comb, cover with a plastic cap while I wash my body and rinse out. So i use a comb everyday, but I haven't experienced much breakage. I do have shedding though.

When I do a quick wash, I always detangle, either with my fingers, comb or a brush depending the look that I want.

When's Your Wash Day
I have a question:
I work 2 jobs (64 hours a week) . What I do is co wash Friday nite, two-strand twist, let that set over the weekend, then unfurl the twists on Monday to wear the twist out until Friday. How do you deal with the airdrying if you wash everyday and are you wearing it in a freedom fro? I'm going to try this, but when I wet my twists start to poof out like Sideshow Bob (The Simpsons character)...that look is ok, if I was clubbing

Re: When's Your Wash Day
What are you putting into your hair? Sounds like you need some moisturizing products.

Experiment
Thanks Blaqpearl for responding.
I've tried conditionere w/honey, worked pretty good. Oils and good ole fashion grease. I'm thinking like Law I'm going to go "Productless"...I got caught in the rain yesterday and sure enough my hair was looking like Sideshow Bob, so I went home and cond-wash, rinse and started twisting with no products at all. Once I was done I put my twists on rods and went to bed. This morning I unfurled them and they look no worse than with products applied. I think I'm going to do this for a couple weeks and see how this goes....I think Law may be on to something.
