Default YOU'VE GOT TO TRY THIS!

For those of you still looking for a moisturizing leave in, I would like to refer you to Shygirl's post on the 3c board "I think I've found the perfect leave in"
My 4a sisters I tried this stuff yesterday and it is awesome! I have never had a leave in leave my hair so moist and my curls so frizz free and well defined. The compliments are off the charts!!
The name of the conditioner is "Jamaican Mango and Lime Cactus Leave in". I got mine at a generic beauty supply store, and it cost $4.99 for an 8 ounce bottle. I use it mixed with water as my nightly spritz, but on washday I'm planning to use it undiluted as my leave in. All I can say is, you've got to try it to believe it !!!!

I hear a lot of raves about this product. Hopefully, I can find this in my area but I highly doubt it

Have you ordered from them before because I have been looking for a good beauty supply store on-line? I want to try this stuff also. Is it creamy or watery?

msjoker,

I live in Quebec and I couldn't find I anywhere online in canada. sold out

So I ordered it directly from the website at:

http://www.rastagroup.com/

I haven't received it yet since I just ordered it on the 4th so I'll let you know when it arrives. That way you'll know how long it takes to get here.

SO THATS WHAT IT'S CALLED!

I went hunting for the Jamacian product that had been praises and I forgot the name. I ended up buying the Mango and Lime Protein Conditioner. I'll have to look around for the Leave-in. The Protein Con. left my 4a hair singing! (The 3c jury is still out)

knatural 31 asked:

Is it creamy or watery?

It's a thick liquid think of a jelly like consistency, but it's definitely water based, and if you use Curling Custard by Kinky Curly, it works wonderfully along with it. I just tried the two together tonight!

let me correct my last response. It's a liquid, but it's not as thick as jelly. It's kind of runny but a little thicker than water.

well, the quiet voice in my head tried to tell me that this would not work as lovely as shygirl's 3c hair. My 3c/4a/4b hair has a mind of it's own-still the afro tight curls going on here, did not relax them jokers to hang like hers.but ,oh,i do so like the setting lotion spray!!used it for my pony puffs and my hair slicked back really easily.cant wait to see my hair dry with this stuff.

thought Id be able to rock my 6-10inches of curls but it still shrinks down to 1-2.

Since it's a leave in(not necessarily a styling product), I didn't expect it to pull/elongate the curls. It's too light for that. I use it to mostly moisturize, but the added bonus is that my hair doesn't look bad with this alone. The only reason my hair hangs in the front is because of my old dye job. Certain pieces fall more than others. I still have 5+ inches of shrinkage.

As far as the setting lotion, what are the ingredients(if you don't mind posting)?

maybe you could give your tips, again? I have the IC gel...but I'm not liking the length of drying time and the tacky feeling afterwards-like a heavy jerry curl,yuk...then my acne flares up from oil contact etc...

I'm trying to figure out how many inches of hair I'll need to have to satifsfy my desired "hangtime" It's a lil' passed my shoulders in the back.Anywho..the setting lotion...

rasta locks twist jamaican mango and lime lock and set styling lotionnow THAT'S a name!!)

(budgegum extract,essence of mango n lime,cactus root extract,shea buttr extrct,tea tree,aloe,napt preservative,fragrance)

Once again, very nice "slick" to hair. My hairs almost dry now, and there's nice ringlets in the pony puff and its quite moisturized, not heavy. I'm liking..

oh,how is it that a dye job helps curls to hang?

Hair coloring tends to loosen the curls. I think it has something to do with either the peroxide and/or ammonia in the mixture. When I didn't have any color in my hair, I had uniform corkscrews. But when I colored, some parts loosened into deep s-waves. Luckily it doesn't look too bad, but I can tell the difference, especially in the front(or when I put my hair into a ponytail-- my hair looks like it has straight pieces when pulled back).

I've used everything under the sun, but the last one I used was Ganier 730 Golden Blonde(April '04). My hair didn't appear to be dry(at this time, I didn't really pay attention to how dry my hair was and what products I used), but after a week, I started to notice the change. I don't believe that henna can change you natural texture, since it's natural based, unless someone overlaps it with an ammonia/peroxide laden dye. In about a week, I'm going to try Naturtint. So far, no one has reported a change in there hair texture, damage, or dryness.

just wanted all to know. I AM LOVING THE CACTUS LEAVE IN PLUS THE SETTING LOTION.

I am not arm wrestling with my herr anymore! It causes a nice slick glide and sets up some nice waves! and it moisturizes, without the heaviness. I think I"m in love! I've found a keeper!!!

I still cant leave my hair out yet-Im not comfortable with the length yet; but my afropuffs are loving this!

Darn it Doc! I was trying to be disciplined about hair products. I'm already ordering stuff this week. But I took a walk downtown and bought the Cactus Leave-in - I just had to try it! I'm washing my hair tomorrow. So I'll report back. I put a little on my hand though. The texture is interesting.
