Question about Shealoe... (and some other stuff)

I am in the process of ordering Aloe Vera liquid gel, Shea butter, Mango butter and Kokum butter. The Kokum I wish to use on my skin and the remaining products for my hair. My question being, I noticed the mention of vegetable glycerin and is it necessary for me to get that as well? I thought that by getting Shea butter and mixing it with Aloe vera gel, that would be enough. Also, I want to buy a container to put this in, and the company sells tins, bottles and glass jars. Any suggestions?

For containers I usually use mason jars or small tupperware. I like these ones too:

thanks!
