I have a really bad habit of ripping out my knots instead of cutting them. I recently trimmed my hair to get rid of the breakage but I was wondering when breakage occurs does it move up the hair shaft like split ends?

not sure but im sure its possible. if the hair breaks uneven then a split may occur...
