Default Sealing the ends of your hair?

WHat do some of you ladies do when you seal your hair after you put your leave in cond.? I tried early on just sealing it w/ shea butter (I rod set my hair) but the ends always frizzed. So now I use shea mixed w/ frizz ease. My ends stay well formed longer but I'm not sure if the cones in frizz ease are making my hair split more. I had split ends w/ and w/ out using the frizz ease anyway. I'm trying to trace the true source of my split ends (especially because I moisturize my hair often). Could cones, could be diet (much improved right now), could be lack of vitamins (taken daily now) could me the shampooing (co-washing only). Many of these changes are new so going forward I'm hoping I see fewer and fewer split ends.

Other people's experiences will be helpful. thanks!

So you just dab some of the oil onto the ends? Does it keep your ends from frizzing up?[

i use an oil blend after i put in my leave in as well.

have you trimmed your spilt ends? no matter what you try and seal your ends with, if they are split/damaged, theyre going to be frizzy until you get rid of them.

I trimmed all my split ends off 2 months ago. My ends were super healthy. Unfortunately right after that life got really stressfull and I was traveling a lot and went 3 weeks w/ out washing my hair. My hair got really dry and there was a lot of breakage and splitting. So now that I'm not having to travel - I'm really trying to nurture and baby my hair (especially the ends). So every time I wash and rod set my hair - when it's dry I've been trimming to make clean edges - not all the ends because that would be high up in some areas. But bit by bit I'm cleaning up the ends.

I rub a bit of butter on my clean wet ends, before leave-in and styling. Not really a sealer. More of a moisture hit.

Does mixing an oil into the leave in count as sealing, or does it have to go on separately? Since my hair is not really a fan of straight oils, I usually try to sneak them in via a blend with leave in moisturizer.

Also, I can never focus only on the ends my hair is too big and too short the ends are all over the place, lol. I just do the whole hair from root to tip; it's dry enough to appreciate it.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions! Like jeamaria I add a little butter to my leave in. Yesterday I dipped the ends in Vitamin E oil (couldn't find castor oil or coconut oil in a hurry) but my hair was still verry dry in the morning (fallout from cassia conditioning). So have returned to applying shea butter mixed w/ Aveda beautiful oil and African pride oil for a daily appl.
