HAIR RULES products

LMAO @ her getting around the industry!

She had Miko come to Urbanbella....she has a new salon here in DC on U street I think.

You know what...i honestly don't have a problem with folks putting that stuff in thier products..but don't talk out of both sides of your mouth going on and on about how people lie in thier marketing and all this other stuff (I'm talking about you Mr Dicky..cause I know u reading this...lol) in your books to win us over...and then pull the bait and switch and do the same thing to us that you been preaching the gospel about!

I have products with mineral oil in my cabinet...but i'll be DAYUMED if I paid more than $5 for em. You will NOT bait me into buying in to the good hair hype with some $30 pink oil moisturizer and models with chemically treated hair....NO SIR -------------->

Nappy curly crown...I'm right there with you girl! No way am i spending my hard earned money on some overpriced Pink Oil Moisturizer. We were discussing the ridicuousness of this in another thread: hair rules kinky curling cream anyone!

And you're right....I'm sure Mr. Dicky is reading this so I hope he realizes that this is not the smartest business/marketing plan for long term customer satisfaction. If you need some help Dickey - PM me...marketing is my thing

Nappycurlycrown you are too funny. It pisses me off how much money I put into buying miss jessies just to realize that its no good for my hair. I did not know any better because I bced at the mj salon. Their products were cheaper and they just went up all of a sudden. Before I knew about ingredients I did notice a change in the buttercreme formula which explains that they added mineral oil. Once I stopped using sulfates thats when I noticed the harm that mineral oil was doing to my hair. I would wash my hair and there would be a white residue on my scalp and my hair just looked dull. I mean yes my hair grew from my two inch bc over the years but I just sit and wonder how much more growth I would have had if I was not slathering the mineral oil.

If Mr. Dickey is reading these posts then we encourage you to reformulate and reduce the price, then come back to the boards to see how well your product is selling.

Dang...and guess what...I think that chick is the owner of Urbanbella Salon in Atlanta......

And SHE has a texturizer!!!!

See...that's another thing...he is using models that have texturized hair...which means 9 out of 10 times, the results will be completely different on someone that is 100% natural! I HATE that!!!

I personally think that this is one of the many reasons why so many women have such a hard time remaining natural and so many go back to relaxers or end up texturizing. Because they make you think that these "hair models" have 100% natural hair...and when someone with 100% natural hair tries it and gets a different out come...they get frustrated and think that there must be something wrong with thier hair!

URGGGGGGGGGGGG I'm REALLY pissed now!!!!

It is her. I noticed her when I first went to the Hair Rules site. I was like wow, you get around the kinky hair industry. She had one of them Branch women (the one who has her own shop now) come down to Urbanbella and give a workshop to natural/ curly haired women. I wonder if she's going to start selling Hair Rules too now.

I promise that if I ever come out with my own oroduct (IDK if it will be all natural or not), but it won't be over 20 bucks and it won't have cones (unless they're water soluble) petrolatum or mineral oil.

But uhhmm yeah I"m disappointed with the ingredient selection in Dickey's product line. I truly hopes he will reformulate them.

Urbanbella does carry this line already. My stylist tried to get me to go there, but I read the ingredients and passed on it.

Hmm they really push MJ products there and now they are trying to get folks to buy hair rules. Last time I was in there, they too hit me up about hair rules. Thank God I passed. From now on I will just be buying KCCC, Jane Carter Solution, and Devaconcept products from them. But yeah they definately are in bed with Mr. Dickey so to speak. They tentatively have him scheduled to do a seminar and a curl talk and tea in the near future. I think his BS ingredients should be a topic of discussion at the event for sure. I wonder how he would respond to that when asked about it on the spot in an open forum!!

The Kaneesha Hudson lady's hair looks shorter in the photo above compared to the photo on Miss Jessie's site. I wonder if she keeps it like that for personal taste or if the 'silkener' straightened the ends and they had to be trimmed.

It be because of the color she is not retaining length. I think that pick with the blond hair from the Urbanbella website is a little old...cause the pick of her with the branch sister above it is more recent. Her hair appears to be a more redish color.

A generous curly sent me samples of the Cleansing Cream and the Curling cream....and I couldn't bring myself to use the curling cream; kept thinking of my poor hair follicles clogging up from the mineral oil and cones LOL. I'll tell you though, it's very thicky/tacky looking very much like MOP-C curl cream if you've ever used that. A little too gluey for my taste. Close to it in consistency but less gluey and 100% more natural, is Curls by Sisters Smith Wet Set Hair pudding. Oh well, maybe I'll have a couple of drinks, loosen up and throw the Curling Cream on my head
