Damn this is tempting but I'm trying to detox from my excessive pjism.
I tried kinky curling cream and curly whip (for when its dryer out). They are both good. Smell good, aren't too heavy/waxy but help me hold a real tight curl. Give it a try. Better than anything I've used in a while.
i like the cleansing cream andthe conditioner. i'm going to try the kinky curling cream tomorrow...

Yeah, pleas epost the results! The banner/ website is very tempting. The model Janine's hair seems like my texture and I like her "after". Too bad from my job I can't view the styling video - I'd like to see the application process. They should post it on you tube.

Actually maybe this is me more than other folks but I've found that my hair changes based on the weather (but probably a lot of people with curly hair have this issue). Anyway I live in NYC and it can go from really dry (late fall, winter and early spring) to really humid (early fall, late spring, all summer). So knowing that I figured I'd try both the curly whip and the kinky cream. My hair is a looser curl when its dry and has more kink when its humid. It hasn't really gotten hot here yet but its been raining a lot in the last few days so up until recently I was just using the curly whip but now that its been raining alot I've been using the kinky curly cream and it just controls the frizz a bit more with the humidity. Also its just stronger stuff so I like using it (but just a little, which leaves my hair so soft).

That's what kinda cool about Hair Rules overall is that it deals with the spectrum of all different kinds of non straight hair but even the spectrum within our own individual hair. You know what I mean? At least in my case, for better or worse, its like I have two different kinds of hair depending on the weather. Kinda a pain but no doubt provides some variety.

their products looked tempting, until I looked at the ingredients and they use mineral oil, petrolatum, and other cones....oh well, i'll keep searching.
Mostly 4a..crazy hair

Currently using: 100% Aloe Vera Gel , VO5 Conditioners for Co-Washes, Jojoba and Africa's Best Oils, GV Biolage Conditioning Balm , Cream of Nature Detangling Shampoo, ACV rinses, Herbal Tea Rinses (rarely), Alba Botanica Leave-in

Goal: healthy hair and longer hair

i didn't like the kinky curling cream. it wasn't super greasy but it DID just sit on my hair. honestly for my hair i need to just stick w/ the afro detangler. it's nurturing and soaks into my hair and i feel like it's healthy for my hair. i never tried miss jessies but it might be similiar. both have mineral oil which i probably wouldn't have bought it if i knew the hair rules ingredients. again for my hair type i need softening and not hold. bottom line it did NOT transform my hair like the pics. they swear all they did was apply product and it looked like that....i think maybe if you smooth the hair and spend lots of time drying it it can possibly look like that. that's my 2 cents...

I am so interested in the product. I just watched the testimonies and the application video. It looks so great but it has mineral oil as the second ingredient in the kinky curling cream. I wonder why the creators would put that in there if it's supposed to be so bad for our hair.

^^^ Mineral oil is a cheap filler for hair and body products. Most companies that use mineral oil in place of more expensive, natural stuff do so to decrease production costs and increase profit.

I'm personally appalled that Mr Dicky would try and sell us some cheap stuff that prob takes all of $5 to produce (per bottle) and is trying to sell it for $30!!!! He MUST be crazy (or think that we are)

You can get products that are a LOT more natural and much better for your hair at much cheaper prices!

Just say NO to Hair Rules!!!!

I'm really beginning to wonder. Miss Jessie's and now this. They both seem to have similar ingredients and both use the mineral oil. If it's so bad, and i'm sure if we can google it so can they, why would they put it in their products? The reason I can come up with is that it's a necessary component to get our hair to hang. Tons of people have pics in their fotki of their after shots but what about before. Like MJ's website and Hair Rules videos. Show the whole process cuz I'm beginning to feel like some folks aren't being truthful.

You gotta remember...Miss Jessies only recently added mineral oil to its formulas....and even with the more natural stuff, charged a lot less than they do now!!! I remember when the curly pudding was $20....and now that ish is $38. In addition to the price increase you gonna fill it with nasty stuff....NO THANKS!

Now...I can see WHY Mr Dicky would try this move. You got chicks that will pay ANYTHING in to have some good hair!!! Any product that promises to "elongate the curl" or "turn kinks to curls" and is a GOLD mine!!! He's basicly playing on the self image issues that a lot of women have.

How many posts have i seen where chicks join the board and thier first post is about "enhancing thier curl" "better curl definiation" or what have you. Or they are in the middle of a transition asking how to make thier curls pop. A lot of them don't even CARE if thier hair is healthy or thriving....they just wanna know what product they can use to get them some good hair and the heck with all that other ish.

Dang...and guess what...I think that chick is the owner of Urbanbella Salon in Atlanta......

And SHE has a texturizer!!!!

See...that's another thing...he is using models that have texturized hair...which means 9 out of 10 times, the results will be completely different on someone that is 100% natural! I HATE that!!!

I personally think that this is one of the many reasons why so many women have such a hard time remaining natural and so many go back to relaxers or end up texturizing. Because they make you think that these "hair models" have 100% natural hair...and when someone with 100% natural hair tries it and gets a different out come...they get frustrated and think that there must be something wrong with thier hair!

URGGGGGGGGGGGG I'm REALLY pissed now!!!!

It is her. I noticed her when I first went to the Hair Rules site. I was like wow, you get around the kinky hair industry. She had one of them Branch women (the one who has her own shop now) come down to Urbanbella and give a workshop to natural/ curly haired women. I wonder if she's going to start selling Hair Rules too now.

I promise that if I ever come out with my own oroduct (IDK if it will be all natural or not), but it won't be over 20 bucks and it won't have cones (unless they're water soluble) petrolatum or mineral oil.
