I guess I should update since I posted before. For me oiling my scalp is only useful for stimulating regrowth.. I use growth oils on sections of my scalp where there is hair loss then once regrowth starts I stop. I used to have a lot more hair loss and I think I was using too much castor oil too often. The chiggers took over my head. Now I only have a small area of loss and alternate co with other lighter oils. I wash several times a week to prevent buildup.

I really like how EVOO works as a sealer but it makes my skin break out if I don't wash it out. I use it as a prepoo. Coconut oil is not good in my hair unless in formulation and not too high up ingredient list.
