Yeah...that comment about Angela Bassett havin, "kinky buds" creepin up the back of her neck had me gigglin'. He is dramatic as hell, that's probably why I don't take him too seriously.

exactly! & i think he's secretly in love with KaptainSolo.

i know a lot of the Genx/Yt guys were surprised when they finally saw UheardMe1sttime.

I was like Yeah!!!

if this makes no sense Uheard(or her old channel name something like 'gottabekiddingme'?) actually takes the time to make clips countering some of the foolishness.

They were so convinced that she's was going to look like Princess Fiona or something but she's hawt.

Hm... I really need to rethink my twisting strategy.
I was assuming that smaller twists equal neat. However my small twist were extra knotted and harder to detangle. My bigger twist were soft, fluffier and easier to unravel/detangle....
Hm...

On some real talk. Im tired of my hair.

It breaks easily , it doesnt like to be out and it justs too tiring to think about. One spot breaks off, then grows back , then I look again and another spot has broke off and its not even visible to anyone but me. ( big ole sigh)

I know my hair needs to be in protective styles but I just dont LIKE the length of my hair right now. Im just over it.

I guess I might get some Kinky Twists soon.

I totally feel you on this. That's why I'm wearing a wig right now. This is usually the point at which I decide I need to get a relaxer, so I'm saving my hair from myself by giving it a break. I can pretend that my hair is shoulder length already and not this ear/neck length purgatory. I would be in braids except my hair just doesn't do well in them and they start slipping off after like 2 weeks.

I met Esperanza Spalding!

Her voice was amazing, she was simply gorgeous (as usual) and she was so nice I wanted to cry of happiness. Lol. I'm so socially awkward that I expected her to make an excuse and keep it moving, but she was very sweet about it. AND..she gave me her bowl of watermelon.

I'm so greedy.

bummer! that's why there are some people, esp musicians that I just never want to meet IRL on the chance that they're jerks or in a foul mood. i'd be so letdown.

'Don't make me go home & throw yr dvds/cds away..do an iTunes purge"

If I even read that someone was an azz to a journalist, fan, associate, I'm soured and have trouble enjoying their work. lame, i know, but that's me.

I saw Esperanza in concert last fall, it was awesome , so I'm doubly-psyched that she's a decent gal.

I either need to make a YT channel or stop watching them. It's come to the point where I have a running commentary going in my head of what I would say if I was filming.

I work at a high-end mall, so all the celebrities go there to shop. I act like I don't even notice them, cuz most don't consider themselves to be the same species as the rest of us.

When they are nice, it's surprising. I wouldn't have expected anything different from Esperanza. Nas? I wouldn't have expected anything different from him.

I Idris Elba, for instance... but I get a "stank" vibe from him. I would be pleasantly surprised if he was sociable. I remember reading somewhere that he wasn't too nice.

+1

For the last few days, I've been looking like the parthenogenetic lovechild of Miss Celie and Pippi Longstocking.

I can't wear wigs out. I have some but my children will tell everyone they meet that it's a wig. That just how they are @ this age. If I were going out alone with my husband, I'd try it. but when does that happen?!

sooo I just do an African/Carib-inspired fabric wrap on my off days.

I'm a bit offended at my wonderful shrinkage lately. The back is almost @ apl again, sides touching collarbone, bangs to my mouth area

s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d

I'm just 'too through' at how long it will have to be to get the fro diameter/loft that I desire.

The old devil Heat has been whispering "Howzzzzzza bout a blow out?... or maybe a flat ironing?..it'll be sssssso much eassssssier to bun that way! ssssssssss"

No no no I won't. Been there, fried dat. It'll get dry as hell and I'll be back with broom-brush ends and the scissors.

& my old 90s standby of braids won't cut it for me either. I can't even think about sitting still that long to get it done..let alone the abysmal takedown. no siree bob.
