Same here. When one of my coworkers got the guts to ask about my hair one day, after I explained to her what it took to get it straight, she asked, "why would you go through all that trouble anyway?"

Now, my family is a whole other thing...

It's gonna be me and Bobeam poo bars, for the entire winter season.

Silk Dreams' Creme de la Silk is....

SO glad to have my kinks back. I missed them, while in a blown-out style (bun) after a length/ends check. I didn't feel right.
Cerendipity likes this.

I was laughing at the ignorance which in my experience knows no racial boundry. Today a white coworker tells me he likes my hair then starts singing "Ring My Bell" which I have no idea what that is supposed to mean. People of several races have made strange comments to me. Oh well. We all have a different sense of humor.

Contemplating getting braids when I go back home to England for Christmas for winter...currently reading up to see if they will do more damage than good though!

NEA,

That moisturizer does look good and I like the ingredients. Tamanu oil??

Plus her site is cute and she sounds incredibly sweet in her descriptions. Particularly Aaliyah's Blessings hair butter.

Thanks to your thread I ordered some yesterday. I'm pissed because I should have added what was left to the cart. Not that I can change it now. Do you know she ALREADY shipped my order AND sent me a message telling me so?

I can't deal. I'm not used to service so fabulous.

For everyone who thinks only black women get taken for a ride regarding expensive hair products...behold...Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Seasilk Oil Gel (oh word, we have anti-aging for hair now too!), weighing in at $28 for 3.4 ounce, ie, it would last me like one use and a half.

Lightweight leave in oil gel can be used to repair and rejuvenate distressed hair by infusing it with moisture and shine. When combined with your favorite hot tools, Alterna Oil Gel will give your hair an extra boost of silky smoothness for a radiant and healthy look. Both a treatment and styler. The ultimate multi tasker, Alterna Caviar Seasilk Oil Gel is also a perfect light hold styler that gives you a natural hold that tames flyaways and eliminates frizz.

Ingredients:

Propylene Glycol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Water (Aqua), Algae Extract, Foeniculum Vulgare (Fennel) Seed Extract, Caviar Extract , Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Root Extract, Glycine Max (Soybean) Symbiosome Extract, Hydrolyzed Algae Extract , Pikea Robusta Extract, Saccharomyces Lysate Extract, Wasabia Japonica Root Extract, Dimethiconol, Dimethicone, Benzophenone-4, Phenyl Trimethicone, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Superoxide Dismutase, Saccharomyces/Zinc Ferment, Lactoferrin, Phospholipids, Phytosphingosine, Corn Oligosaccharides, Saccharomyces/Copper Ferment, Ganoderma Lucidum (Mushroom) Tyrosinase, Lentinus Edodes Tyrosinase, Retinyl Palmitate, Copper Lysl Oxidase, Acetyl Methionine, Acetyl Serine, Amino Acyl tRNA Synthetase, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Seed Peroxidase, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Niacinamide/Yeast Polypeptide, Adenosine Triphosphate, Hexapeptide-11, Ascorbic Acid Polypeptide, Pantothenic Acid Polypeptide, Silanetriol Melaninate, Polyquaternium-1, Bromelain, Papain, Sodium Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Isohexadecane, Polysorbate 80, Glycerin, VP/VA Copolymer, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance (Parfum), Citral, Geraniol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Linalool, Limonene.

Who and the what, now?
And why are some of the items bolded? Are they all 'cones? (I don't know what 75% of those ingredients are so )

^^^Most were cones, others were glycols and acrylates, which are also considered "bad" ingredients to some. Now, I don't believe in bad ingredients...but $28 for 3.4 oz?? Giiiiiiiirl.....bye.

As I touch up these braids, I realize I have had braids or kinky twists since july. I'm too lazy to take them all out at one time, maybe I'll take them out for new years or better yet springtime. Also, using conditioner as a leave in is working nicely.
