Just watched Natural Chicago's video about her experience at Too Groovy hair salon in downtown Atlanta and I want to go so badly now! I will make it a present to myself for when I make it to BSL.

Watching up with Chris Hayes on MSNBC. Two African-American women with natural hair on the panel. One with a sandy brown wild afro and the other with a curly twist out afro. I love it!! God bless black women wearing natural hair on TV!!

I'ma try dc'in overnite again. I don't even remember how my hair felt last time but dc'in on low heat ain't workin. I tried high heat but that was cookin' my scalp. My hair feels like paper right now. *insert loud, dramatic sigh* All I gotta do is figure out how to keep water from dripping down my neck while I sleep.

*sigh* I feel like I am aiming too high in regards to my hair goals for next year. I already feel like I am not going to make BSL by the end of next year. I just can't imagine my hair being that long and it seems so far away. I want it so badly too!
I know this was triggered by me slightly f'ing up my hair with protein treatments. I have finally realized that my fine hair doesn't need strong treatments and they actually make my hair worse off. So lesson learned there.
I have always wanted long hair and now that it is growing and I am well past no man's land (around NL for me) I feel like my hair is suddenly going to hit terminal. I am going to try to take my mind off my hair which shouldn't be too hard since I will be super busy this coming semester. I will still care for it but there will be no length checks until the end of semester which is in early May.

I started my locs on Saturday and by Sunday evening it was itching fiercely. I finally asked my mom to oil my scalp and lo and behold, the itching stopped. Being natural really taught me to pay attention to my hair, so now I can walk around comfortable without having to ghetto tap my hair over 5 mins.
I ain't thirsty. There's plenty of fish in the sea, but I don't want all of them, can I have some standards? Or do we just have to settle, for someone's who meh and will do.

Ladies I need your advice. I have been wearing my hair straight for the holidays. I am now ready to be "free again" and wear my hair natural. Should I do a protein treatment or moisturizing treatment? This is the first time blowing my hair out since going natural 2 years ago. I do an to henna about 4 days later. My roots are showing, but I want to do a regular wash first.
I think I need to finally give up on any products that have coconut. My hair absolutely hates coconut milk treaments. But all these conditioners my hair seems to be okay with sometimes and not okay with other times. The suave coconut, organix coconut, the AO dessert and AO white camellia. So i had been getting awesome results from Hugo Naturals conditioner for curly hair that has coconut but last night after i cowashed with it hair felt like it does when it has too much protein. i never have a problem with coconut oil but I dont ever use it alone.

I'm going to wash my week old twist out to try a braid out again. I gotta try bigger braids this time to see if it works. Braid outs have just been fails for me.

And I gotta find a new condish this week. I only have my SM restorative condish but I need to find a good french brand. Timotei did nothing for me.

I'm not obsessed: I just LOVE my hair!!

Tried a coil out for the first time in over 18 months. I wasn't sure if it would turn out good because the last time I did it my hair was shorter. Most people who do coil outs have TWA's and my hair is medium-long length (nearly APL stretched). It actually came out decent. Yay!

Maybe you should do your henna on your dry straightened hair, just move the date on your schedule up. This would decrease the steps you have to do and make the henna application easier.

I'm officially claiming shoulder length. I'm not full shoulder length yet, because my hair is layered, but I've hit it (stretched). I trimmed 1/4 inch but I'm still there.

My braidout was so full and gorgeous tonight. Ive been doing a side part then flat braiding on both sides. Gives me a sweeping bang look. Then I did regular braids on the rest. Looks great.
Why do I always think I'm saving money by buying cheap, plastic hair clips? I always regret it when I hear that *crack* of the clip breaking and flying out of my hair...

For my prepoo sometimes I coat EVOO over my dry hair, put a bag over it and sit under the hooded dryer for 10 to 15 minutes. Tonight I went 20 and I can definitely tell the difference. My hair loves hot oil treatments.
Let me gon ahead and try this bask YAM nectar sample so that I can see if it's worth me purchasing. Not like I have anything else to do.
