Thats why anytime someone asks who has washngo hair I reply. "anyone". I'm a 4a all the way ,however I dont wash and go but in the summer time so 95% of the time my hair is in twists or braids or a twistout but lo and behold let me rock a washandgo, folks claim I've had a texturizer. They cant wrap their minds around the fact that Nappy , kinky hair can curl or coil.

I dont think it has to do with the good hair bad hair thing, but moreso about doing what u know works for your hair & avoiding what u know wreaks havoc on your strands. The hair typing thing make me cringe more than anything. I have a variety of hair types & wash & goes r wash & nos for me based on the fact that my hair texture tangles like no bodys business because it is tighter.

I feel you on this one.

I went last Wednesday to try a full head sew (none of my natural hair left out) in for the first time after hearing all the rave reviews about how much hair grows when doing this. Anyway, I love the sew in and it looks natural.

Oh, it was so funny when the braider saw my hair (I had my hair combed out into an afro) and she told me.."I've been braiding hair all day and I looked at your hair, thought to myself..ohhh, I hope her hair doesn't cut my hand. Your hair is actually very soft. I'm glad you have a good grade of hair."

I used to get tree braids but the stylist put rubberbands at the end of the braid on my hair!! No wonder my hair was breaking off. I may be sticking with sew ins from now on.

PHUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!!!! i drove through 3 frickin' cities to get to this beauty supply and got so excited that they actually carried the T. Waajid mist bodifier that I bought the last two w/o reading the ingredient list and their clearly posted (on 3 different signs throughout the store) there "NO REFUND OR EXCHANGE" policy.

Just incase anyone reading this post is trying to figure out why Im mad it's because Im vegan and her leave-in contains both silk protein and bee pollen. *heavy sigh*
Luckily I calmed down on the world's longest drive home and gave one bottle to my brother and I just might give the other to my oldest brother, or coworker who hides her damaged hair under plastic wigs.

i dont remember when i last washed my hair...i know it was before my final

which means maybe 2 weeks...my twists are still really soft which is a surprise i also havent sealed my ends since last week wednesday

i feel so over everything i just want to veg out

Lol.. I hear ya.. it's like as a natural you are a walking lesson to others. Well they'll eventually get it (or not) and for the meantime the ignorant comments may continue. At least you know what the truth is.

It's definitely good to know what works for you, and I agree with you on "hair typing", which I think is in and of itself a misleading term. What we call "hair typing" is just to describe the approximate size of ones curls, nothing more.

If you are wondering if the Big Chop is right for you do some research first.
Look at other women with the Big Chop style, as they will offer you a level of self-confidence.

Ask yourself this, do I have the strength to be myself?

Do I have Love myself enough to look in the mirror and Love my Kinky curls?

I did the Big Chop and let me tell you it was one of the most FREEING experiences I ever felt.

I had long dread locks down to the middle of my back!!!

Did I lose friends YES, did I have crazy stares YES, and did I care NO!!!
Did I wonder how people were going to accept me or reject me.. Yes I did..

I wish I had decided to go natural 3 weeks ago before I got my last relaxer. I had a nice 4 months of new growth then. New start for the new year, I guess. I'm definitely doing the BC before August...got a cruise to go on and there's no way I'm handling 2 textures while swimming for 7 days.

I wanna blow dry my hair straight. I think I'm gonna do it. Not sure how, but I will. I hate to say it, but I'm missing my "silky st8". I know it's just a phase, but I haven't traightened my hair since going natural 17 months ago.

lol this happened to me last week!!! i was bored and my boyfriend was gone (he would've stopped me if he knew what i was doing)....i got through half my hair and quit. i ended up doing a crazy search and destroy that night trying to get all the splits i knew 1 hour of blow drying caused (yes, it took me an hour to blow dry half my head.)
....and.....when he got home he saw me with the scissors and asked me why i was cutting my hair and i told him i put heat on it....he yelled at me anyway...lmao...
