rt1: i want long hair again but i'm not sure if i want to put in the work to get it.

rt2: i can't believe it's july already. Christmas will be here tomorrow.

RT: When you're young, summer means no school and the beach, but once undergrad is over with, it means weddings, and another year that has went by that you are still friggin' single. I mean I don't need a fiance right now, but can a sista at least get a damn date to the wedding? lol.

The only thing worse than having to go to all of those weddings an buy all of those gifts is having to be IN a wedding... so I'm supposed to spend over $1000 for you to get married? lol...

I just know I better get gifts from every last one of those married chicks when its my turn LOL!!

lol... I try to keep the gift below like $40 too... but then you add the bridesmaid dress, shoes, jewelry, plane ticket, etc. and the ish just gets out of hand

That's what I'm saying! I'm in a wedding on the 26th and with my dress, shoes, flight, rental car, and hotel I'm right at $1000! I hope she's not expecting a gift. My presence will be her gift.

And they all kill me, saying they're gonna choose a dress that you can wear again. I've been in about 7 weddings, and I haven't worn a single dress again. One of them I hated so much, I gave it away as soon as I took it off to my cousin who was planning to use the material to make another dress.

so I went to see my stylist today. I feel SO relieved. She did take some off, but not as much as I thought...

end result? my curls popped when I was in the shower. my frazzled ends are gone, and my "patch" (evidently she knew about it and had been trying to disguise it) is under control-i.e. hidden again.

the lesson in all this? no more direct heat. for a very very very very very long time.

before (4/15)

after (7/1)

don't let it happen to you.

i may be using this as therapy....but here's my random thought/vent for today

Meet guy last month through friends. I find out he thinks I'm cute/likes me. Friends set up triple date night. Guy and I start the process of getting to know each other. Fast forward one month...I decide I have a crush on him and let him know...ALL FLIRTING STOPS ON HIS END . so you like me until i start liking you?? WTF!!!

end of rant...

I have fallen into a puff rut...which is bad for my poor ends that are still trying to recover from my relaxer a year ago...oh wait!!! My one yr nappiversary was on June 27th...wow...i need to pay attention.

I guess I will attempt twists again...but the shrinkage is craaaazzzzy...maybe i'll blow my hair out...

Happy nappiversary. Anyways, girl, dudes are dumb like that. You don't have time for games, girl, and sadly men like to play them. It's that damn PS3.

What's your process and what products are you using??

I co-wash with Suave Coconut and AOHSR every other day or so and leave about 75% of that in. Before I sleep, I put it in 6 twists or braids, wake up and sock bun. Am I leaving a step out or something? After a day, its just dry and frizzy.

RT1: I know where you're coming from, because I used to feel that way when I was in my early 20s and single. But since I started meeting real men (and by that I mean Christian men who are actually living the faith FOR-REAL for real), I think they are absolutely fabulous. Also, girls like to play silly games, too. I know because I used I used to be that girl. (and on top of that I love vid games).

RT2: I wish I had known then what I know now re: computer programming. I would be so paid. If you know a young girl who is into math, science, computers, etc. PLEASE tell her there are tons of jobs for pple in that field... at least there are at my company, and they are really looking for women and minorities. unicast me if you're interested in learning more.

Default Dem haters!

Basically: Went to NY with some female friends of mine. Met a nice guy (36 yr old Hispanic male) at dinner that was a friend of a friend. He ended giving me his number to contact him to go out dancing the next day. I did. He got a few of his buddies and my girls came with. We had fun! One of the girls in my group actually started hating from the jump (she is 33). She was in my business when I got his number, after we went dancing, and after I got off the phone with him. She actually went so far as to set up a contact exchange with the rest of us girls. She wanted us all to share the numbers of the people (guys and girls) that we met through our friends. She asked me for the guy's number. Okay. Am I wrong for saying heck no!? Basically she thought I was stupid or something. Nah homie. She is just going to end up calling and hollering at him and it ain't happening. The 2 other girls on the trip were saying that I was wrong for not giving her the number. They are probably haters too. I hate to be so paranoid, but really if he wanted them 2 have his number he would have given it to them. What do I look like giving his number out to them at random?! Give me a break!

RT: My phone has worsened to a state of possession. It's pressing buttons by itself. Idk what's going on. I don't pay almost 200 bucks for a phone to have the damn speaker phone go on and off during a call!

RT: Why is it that when you know what you're looking for you can't find it anywhere? When you want to buy something, the sh*t doesn't exist!

rt: I could so do an omelette and hash browns right now, with some chicken apple sausage.
