hello everyone. i missed you ladies. thanks for all the bday wishes. this was a good 4th. oh the caribe fest was on point. the only downside was that my homegirl and i went out one night instead of going to a soca concert (why did we do that) and had a not so good of a time; which sucked because we had to pay $20 to get in. but on a positive note: it was good to be home!!!!!
Geez, I haven't posted here in ages. I missed reading you guys!
RT1: Is it just me, or has it been a craptacular year so far? I hate to sound negative, but for myself and most of my friends/family, it's been one thing after another...and the fact that our economy is in the toilet isn't helping.
RT2: I think I'm going to start seeing a therapist (psychiatrist, actually) to work through some issues. I think I may be suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder from the serious car accident I was in back in February.
RT3: (related to #2) I miss my car!! It was a 2007 Honda Accord. I only had it for 7 months before it got totalled in the accident. Bummer. I want another car, but the price of gas and my fear of getting in another accident have kept me off the road.
RT4: My hair has been doing great lately. Almost 8 months into being 100% natural, and I've hammered down a routine that gives me pretty nice results (in my opinion): cowash with Elucence, rinse, add some as a leave-in (mixed with Giovanni Direct), and add jojoba jelly or KCCC. If I'm using the jojoba jelly, I usually follow up with a few spritzes of Devacurl Set It Free. My curls are poppin' and my hair is finally starting to show some length. Yaaaaaay! I just started henna-ing again too - after a looong hiatus. Might go for my 2nd overnight treatment this weekend. I love my red (formerly gray) hairs!
RT5: Men - I live in ATL (transplant from Ohio), and I found a man down here. Been with my boo for almost 6 years. He's from Illinois. However, I agree that most men down here are shady...the male/female ratio is so lopsided that most men are content to "play the field". And yes, there are a lot of *ahem* "MSM's" down this way.
RT6: I've seen more movies in the last month than I've seen in the last year. And I'm still waiting to see "Dark Knight" and a few others...I need to open up a savings account just to pay for tickets these days, LOL. I also need to get a bigger "movie purse" to sneak stuff into the theater!
4A - dense, medium strands - APL/BSL - 3+ years natural!
YAY!: GF Triple Nutrition Conditioner, YTCu Color Care Conditioner, Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque, LOTD AV Gel, EVCO, JCN&S, KCCC, buns and updos!

the past couple weeks ive been really lazy about moisturizing my hair ...i usually do it once a day....ive been slacking and doing like every other day...and ive noticed a difference with my ends...soo gotta get back on that...
i need to clarify my hair...
i want this marc by marc jacobs bag...sigh...such is life
rt1. So I have not washed my hair for a week...ewww....ewww....ewww. I have just been really busy .rt 2. Am I the only one with mad short hair at the nape of my neck...that has it own poof party going on back there......oh well (sigh)
rt1: i have zero desire to do anything productive today.
rt2: i pre-ordered 20 boxes of 2008 crop jamila henna. i guess that's productive
I totally agree. I'm sitting here on the futon...I have 2 reports to finish, but alas, I'm logged onto NC.com and NP.com
And um....20 boxes....you're worse than me!!!!! But I'd love to get my hands on your stash Happy henna'ing
lol...too funny CN. i figured i'd get enough to last until december. if freezer space weren't an issue, i'd have ordered enough to get me through till the 2009 crop was ready! i am serious about this henna
natural since 1998. trying to adapt to this midwest weather while still keeping it simple. current length: MBL (stretched) www.fotki.com/curlymami
so after buying up all these products and doing all these experiments, what have I learned?
my hair loves dominican products and smooth and shine best, and I should have just stuck with those.
I can go for days without washing and not have an issue
keeping the ends stretched is my friend, heat is not
I want to toss all this other crap I bought, but I'm cheap.
I am in desperate need of a trim but I don't know exactly how to go about doing it. I haven't trimmed my ends since my BC a year ago and now they are giving me trouble. I guess that means I took pretty good care of my hair??
I have officially started back working out!! Praise God, He gave me my motivation back after many many months of being off the bandwagon. I'm doing Turbo Jam and I absolutely love it..Chalene is da shiz! The last time I did it b4 ultimately falling off the bandwagon I lost 4 pounds in 7 days ...I wonder if I can beat my record? And I didn't starve myself either...Turbo Jam just kicks your butt like that.
So that guy I talked about several days ago has shown his colors...HeatherNicole you were so right..THAT DAMN PS3...as my girls and I like to say...I'M OFF IT! lmao
4a/4b hair...experimenting with products...
I love Ojon Restorative Treatment and all things Oyin
TLMMM, I love your T-N-C pics!!!! Work it girl! What products did you use?
I filled a spray bottle halfway with mostly water, three squirts of lacio lacio and one squirt of lottabody.
rt: so you realize that is your own bad energy that caused that to happen right? while you're getting frustrated and maneuvering and mad at someone else, take a moment to think about how you treated others.
Side note: tattoos, anyone? I'm going to get one soon and I'm SUPER excited about it!
I have one on my back/shoulder. I got it a LONG time ago, my sophomore year. It didn't hurt for me. If I had it to do all over again, I would still get one, but maybe in a different place, where it's not as visible. I've considered having it removed, but never followed up and looked into it. It has a lot of color, and to my surprise, the color has held up well over the years. I've had it for about 15 years now. Dang, I'm old...
