If loving Amodimethicone is wrong...I don't want to be right :)

I've been a long term user of Redken Smooth Down and the regular Pantene Relaxed and Natural conditioner and they work extremely well.

The only regular conditioner I've been successful at doing that with is WDT. As a rule of thumb, I usually don't use any of my cone products for co-washes or as leave-ins. I basically use them as a rinse-out after a weekly poo. That's the only way these type products work their magic on my hair.

so i flat ironed last week and used a ton of heat serum because i was so scared of damage. it had all types of cones and xanes in it. needless to say....it rained so bad that day and my hair got ruined (and a room in my house flooded, but that's another story).

whatever the case,...I washed with a sulfate shampoo today (pantene hydrating curls). and my hair feels totally fine because i put the moisture right back after stripping it with that shampoo. i don't think i've used a sulfate shampoo since I've been natural which has been over a year!

The further down the ingredient list it is the better it is for my hair. My hair hates cheap sulfate shampoos but will tolerate the more expensive ones....go figure! The cheapies dry my hair out something awful! Sulfate usage has not damaged or dried out my hair one single bit. Again....another hair rule that I'm not too sure about.

Oh confessions, confessions.

I've been messing with Redken Antisnap

Ingredients

Water (Aqua), CyclopentaSiloxane, Phenoxyethanol, Polyacrylamide, Dimethiconol, C13 14 Isoparaffin, Laureth 23, Laureth 4, Laureth 7, Methylparaben, Disodium EDTA, Ethylparaben, PPG 5 Ceteth 20, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Wheat Amino Acids, Arginine HCl, Taurine, Oleth 10, Disodium Cocoamphodipropionate, Lecithin, Hydroxypropyl Trimonium Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Phosphoric Acid, 2 Oleamido 1, 3 Octadecanediol, Trehalose

YIKES! I don't know why, but this thing has amazing reviews online. I think it smells good, but really didn't do much for my hair anyway.

Also, HE Hello Hydration, which does have cones, and bad ones too:

Ingredients: Water, Stearyl Alcohol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Dimethicone, Vanilla Planifolia Fruit Extract, Cocoa Nucifera (Coconut) Milk Fragrance, Glutamic Acid, Benzyl Alcohol, EDTA,
Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Citric Acid, Blue 1.

It smells so good!! And my hair is so soft when I use this conditioner.

I know they're bad for my hair, but I feel guilty about tossing them after I've paid for them (and I'm currently not working).

I can't wait to finish everything so I can be fully CG. I need to see what CG can do to this hair.

so I read this thread, and like the good little pj in training I went out and bought the pantene mask...

OH
MY
GOODNESS

my hair is curly. there is no frizz. its soft and it stays moisturized for more than 5 minutes. when I put my leave in and gel in, there is no more "producty" feel. I think I have truly fallen in love. so yeah, thats my cone confession. my hair looks GREAT.

so, re: amodimethicone-
I'm happy you like the mask!! Its still my fav DT )
