MoeGro Oil?

I found this in another forum (link below) and it looks pretty interesting. Anyone have any experience with it? I'm thinking of getting some alcohol-free horsetail extract and maybe some burdock extract and having a go.

MoeGro oil

Here is the original recipe and directions. If you don't have the supplies you can order them online.

supplies
one glass jar
6oz of jojoba oil or macadamia nut oil
2oz aloe vera juice/gel
2 tblsp of horsetail herbs
plastic squirt bottle (like the one for hair dye)

1. place oil and herbs in a the jar
2. place jar in a pot of boiling water let the oil heat up
3. remove jar from water and place the top on it let this sit for three days so the herb can infuse with the oil
4. strain oil in to squirt bottle
5. pour in 2oz of aloe
6. shake well and your ready to go

with this mix you will oil you SCALP (after i brush it through my hair) if you use Jojoba you may have to reapply every two day because you scalp will absorb the oil completely. with the mac oil you will reapply it once a week depending on how fast your scalp absorbs the oil.
continue to wash and condition you hair as usual just dont pile on a bunch of other products if you can dont put any thing else on you SCALP you dont want to clog you pours."

i made a batch and liked it. can't say it made my hair grow superfast, but it didn't hurt. the ingredients are healthy and i like it better than some commercial alternatives. also, moe encourages ppl to research and create their own concoctions using this as an example. hth
when all else fails...eat

oh yeah ive made 2 batches of it and my hair has been growing like crazy! i posted before on a different thread how i hadnt seen much growth but i thought it was due to the fact that i stooped taking prenatal vitamins a fenugreek. but i also ran out of moe grow oil. since making my second batch, my hair is back to the growth that i saw when i used it the first time (which is about 3/4 inch a month).
i do tweak the recipe a bit because everytime ive been to the store ive been too poor to buy any oil but olive oil. this time i used light olive oil. and i use a chamomile tea bag instead of the horsetail herbs. its easier for me.
Made it and use it once a week.

This the moegro oil recipe from moe on nappturality. Lots of women on NP rave about it, LHCF too. How do you use it? On your scalp? My scalp usually itches when I put anything on it.
Currently using:

Poo: CON Sulfate Free poo
Rinse out: Tresemme Naturals
Leave-in: CJAOO Daily Cond
Styler: KCCC sparingly and Ampro Olive Oil Gel where needed
DT: KBB Lucious Locks Mask + EVOO/Avocado

Has the horsetail been easy to find? Does anyone know the price?

the original recipe from mo on np.com lists alternative herbs you can use instead of horsetail, if you cant find them or dont want to find them!
let me look it up and then post it...
reading through the link that SBBB posted, I think I will look for horsetail extract. I am assuming that I will not have to heat the oil if using the extract? Should I let it set for 3 days?

Thanks for this post SBB. I'm going to try it this week.

My Routine.
Weekly Cleansers: Co-Wash - Suave Coconut or Yes to Cucumbers and Trader Joe's Nourish Spa. Giovanni 50-50 poo on scalp only.
Moisturizers: Mix of Giovanni Direct with AO Honey Suckle; KCKT; Jamaican Castor Oil, water.
Sealers: My whipped raw shea butter/oil blend.
Scalp Oil: Jojoba, Rosemary, Horsetail, Burdock Root, Aloe Vera Gel
Hairstyle: Protective.

Henndigo occasionally.
I went to my area coop to find the horsetail but they didn't have the actual herb there (i think its pretty hard to find) But they did have the supplement and thats what i got, it was in gel caps so i just twisted them open and poured the ground up horsetail into my mix, I'm assuming that will work just fine and you shouldn't have to use to many capsules so it a regular sized supplement container should last you a while =) Good Luck!

nappy curly crown, i feel you when you say you cant see others results. since i color my hair, my roots show me exactly how much growth i have (i even have a pic in my album). when i stopped using it my roots were a tiny less than 1/2 inch after a month. i didnt even bother posting a pic in my album because it was so pathetic. but since i started using the oil again, im back to the 3/4 of an inch a month.

i couldnt find the list of alternative herbs incase you cant find horsetail, but i know that chamomile was on there (thats why i use chamomile) and there were alot of ladies on np.com who have used chamomile and still had results.
thanks subbrock!! i don't notice hair growth lol as long as it grows im fine. i did see, however, where the henna was far down on my hair when i was in sunlight...

I bought the horsetail extract. I have some on my scalp right now. Can't wait to see if I get good results.
