As soon as I finished reading all 11 pages of this forum, I came upon a site that sells Megatek and I purchase 1 bottle. Yes, an impluse buy, but I truly want to try it out.

I hope it works for me.

I'm ready to try Megatek, I decided I will purchase the 2 oz salve, it looks like it's easier to apply because its cream like. I can't wait to get started.

Question Inquiry re hair loss

I'm considering trying Mega Tek because I have been experiencing some serious hair shedding/loss. Has anyone had success with MT for shedding/loss? I read that sometimes MT causes shedding which I cannot afford. ANY insight would be GREAT.

Some people have experienced shedding with Megatek and take garlic supplements for it. Try buying a bottle of the garlic pills from a local pharmacy and see if you stop shedding. I would hate to see your shedding get worse.

You can also try a homemade recipe (I did this for my daughter) and it works just as well:

Crush 10 cloves of garlic and stir them into 1/2 cup of hot Olive Oil (or Castor oil). Cover and let sit for 2 days then strain. Message into scalp, wrap hair with towel for about 1 hour. Shampoo with fragrant shampoo. (copied from LHCF)

Default Questions

I have megatek but i have not tried it yet bc i am looking for the easiest way to use it,and avoid any shedding.
Questions:Has anyone talked to the company about why women are experiencing shedding? not theories but factual info on why?

Could it be an allergic reaction?

Can you just use it as directed on the bottle?

If you have shedding is there a "wait it out period",or an alternative to taking garlic?

Could i cowash my hair put the mt on fingertips massage into scalp rinse out in 5 minutes and cowash again..then the usual.Or do you have to put it on over night mix with oils..etc to see growth?

I am going to use avalon organics lavender shampoo, and vo5 tea therapy for cowashing, i believe they are protein free and honey suckle rose to dt with, are these ok to use with MT?
Thanks for any info you can give

Default Anyone??

Anybody????
I want to start using this, but i just wanted to know a few things first,I have applied it 3 times mixed with sweet almond oil on my pup`s bald spot it is indeed filling in,big relief. But i know humans and dogs are different so i want to be well informed and safe about using it on my hair,if anyone could answer some of the questions i asked in my previous post it would be great.
I also did a skin patch test on my inner arm for allergic reaction,I did notice the megatek has a cool menthol feeling on my skin but no rash,so that is good.

I have 3b/c curls that are pretty well hydrated. I used MT on wet and dry hair. I never really applied it to my hair as much as my scalp. I left it on from 5 minutes to overnight and had no ill effects from it.

I used it for about 3 months.

Thanks mpgirl,
I am going to use it by rubbing it in my scalp for five minutes then rinse out,I will see how that goes
did you stop using it after the 3 months?

I used it consistently for 3 months. I still used it after that but more sporadically. Right now, I have been using a scalp massage oil 2-3 times a week at night instead. I may go back to the MT in the future.

Why are you only leaving it on for 5 minutes?

Thank you for the insight ladies. Special thank you to Mariag002 for the recipe. I'm definitely going to give that a try. Do you use it as a weekly treatment? I'm going to hit the garlic pills first for a bit then try the mega tek. There are so many MT products. Which one is best - coat rebuilder (stout container) or hoof & mane (tall bottle)? Last question - application is only on the scalp, correct? Rinse or no rinse? That's 2 . . . I'm done!!!!! Thank you again so much! Any more advice re hair loss or shedding is TOTALLY appreciated. And enjoy watching history being made today! Regardless of your politics it's still amazing. Stay blessed all!

Default I am New

But I took my time and read the posts. I am going to try it also and see if I can stop the breakage and problems. I have been on a new cancer prevention medicine and it is really doing damage to my hair, it is longer, but thinner bec of it. So when I get it, I will let you all know if it helps or not.

I just wanted to follow everything as directed.I thought it would help me avoid any possible adverse reactions..ie protein overload or shedding.i have read for human hair use... it is 3 times a week, put in after shampoo wash five minutes rinse out.I used it twice last week in this manner just putting my head upside down and massaging, getting the blood flowing then rinsing out.So far so good

Default OCT discount

I don't use it but this morning on the radio there was an ad for OCT. I thought it was strange because I had only heard about it on hair care boards. They were marketing it towards curly girlies because the "testimonial" was a woman who was Black and Latina. Anyway they said if you enter power106 at checkout you would recieve a special discount. No word on how special it is but if you are planning to purchase, I guess it's worth a shot.

Default Mega Tek

I read what people had to say about the Mega Tek because I am very interested in trying products that promote hair growth. I decided to go with the Mega Tek over the OTC simply because of cost. It has the same ingrediants and is half the cost. I bought some today online and should received in a few days. I will report of any differences in my hair after a month of using it. I do have a question for those who use the product right now. I heard many apply just to their scalp. Do you leave it in or do you leave it in for a few minutes and rinse it out?

Forever27, I would put it on my scalp and leave it on until wash day. Then reapply.

I definitely experienced thickness and some length, but the whole thing was so tedious for me. I eventually just started using it as a DT, applying it to my whole head...20 minutes under the dryer...rinse. My hair is soo much thicker. I recently tried to straighten my hair but I gave up because I couldn't get it straight. I guess it's a good thing though, all the more reason to give up the flat-iron.

Anyway, I ordered OCT yesterday. I want a jumpstart on the length..I'm so anxious.

I think I am going to start using it all over my head too or closer to what the direction stipulate because it seems that people who do it this way see overall thickness while those who use it only on their scalp see thickness only in their new growth. I think the only time I will just use it on my scalp from now on is when I have braid extensions. Will see how it goes and I will keep all updated.
