Megatek /OCT hair growth - Page 8

That is some amazing growth Naya. I've been using Megatek and I'm on the fence. I used it for about a month and didn't see a big difference in growth from normal. But I didn't take pictures so I can't be sure. I have see a big difference this past month but I also started taken biotin and msg so I don't really know what is working.

I experienced a lot of shedding with Megatek. Maria recommend garlic so I was taking it but I was still shedding a lot. I was taking one 2000 mg tablet a day. I looked online to see if I could find anything about what amount I should take and found that I needed a higher dosage. I've been taking 8000mg a day for about two week and I am just now seeing a reduction in shedding. Just thought I'd share in case anyone is experiencing lots of hair loss.

I just wanted to know which one you were using? I heard that there's a pet version and another one for horses. On LHCF, people say they bought the pet version because it has the exact same ingredients found in OCT, but I compared the ont I bought (which is the one for horses) with the pet version and I didn't see any difference in the ingredients. The only thing is that the horse version says that it promotes growth, while the pet version states that it might promote growth... I hope I didn't buy the wrong bottle (mine is blue)

Hey, I didn't know that there was a diffrence but I use the one for horses. Since at one point I brought both Ovation and Mega Tek they both do have the majority of the same ingrediants in it. I don't know anything about the pet version.

How often are you using your Mega Tek. I know I use it every night and I think Naya does the same. Feel free Naya to correct me if I'm wrong. LOL If you want to test out if it's working for you I would take before pictures, stop taking the extra pills and give yourself a time frame to take your after picture. The reason why I am saying this if you are using other products on top of Mega Tek and you are unsure which one is working at least this way you will be able to tell. Then if the Mega Tek is not working then you will know not to waste your money on it anymore. Also, once you see some results or whatever results you do get then start to reintroduce those new products into your regimen and take pictures so you will be able to see if those are working as well. Hope this helps. Just trying to help save time and money. I know we are not all rich. LOL

I have to thank you, you were a HUGE part of my being convinced to buy and try. The funny part is.. i'm not even consistent with my usage. I'm pretty lazy, you have no idea! I think it may be a medical condition at this point, hehehehe, no wait, I mean...

But I can't believe it either.

Medical condition or the Mega Tek whatever works right. LOL

Hey girl, I know what you mean about going crazy because you spent the money on Ovation. I did the same thing. Ovation and Mega Tek are pretty much the same thing the main diffrence in the two products according to people on LHF is that Mega Tek thickens your hair quicker and that the Ovation grows your hair faster. I really don't know. I just know that many of these women love the Ovation but can't afford to spend that kind of money so they use the Mega Tek. I am sure you will get the results you want. Enjoy!!!

Okay so I am changing my routine and I am not going to Mega Tek nighly. I changed it to every other night. I just did this so I can try to streatch the product out a little bit. Alright that's my update.

I think it's great how you ladies are documenting your growth with pictures. I, on the other hand, refuse to take one dang picture until January. I monitor the growth by twirling my coils, it makes them hang longer and have better form. My hair has definitely grown and my edges (which is my area of concentration) are filling in a lot! My hair is so much thicker that I have stopped washing regularly. It gets too dry... Now I co-wash 3x a week to retain the moisture. I haven't experienced any shedding more than usual. But I started taking garlic pills before I started using the mega-tek so it would already be in my system to counter that. Oh and I would recommend avocado oil to anyone wanting to stretch the product. It's an awesome oil and it packs a lot of protein but not so much to make your hair brittle.

I just received my MegaTek yesterday. Applied it to my edges and scalp. I plan on applying it every other night to dry hair. And I WILL be doing a prayer dance so I can results like Naya on my off nights!

Ummm.. anyone else experience a change in hair texture from using this stuff????

Also, I have new pics up on my fotki. Not much growth, I had a protein overload by accident so I took a break from Mega-tek for a bit. Also cut my ends, so.. lol

What kind of change of texture are you experiencing? I think I have a few locs in the front edges of my hair that seem a bit coarser than the rest of my hair. I was thinking about doing mega tek even less because I am not feeling the coarsness when the rest of my hair is soft.

I'm experiencing the opposite, my curls are loosening. Its the curls that were already looser than the rest of my hair which makes it soo bad, lol

Can any of you recommend a good conditioner/shampoo to use? I just finished a container of Alter Ego garlic conditioner and I am using a garlic shampoo. My hairdresser told me that my hair has gotten thiner. I don't know if it has to do with the fact that I am going natural but I have been using MegaTek since September and I haven't had any miraculous results like everyone else?

Welcome Joanah!
Are you applying the megatek every night on your scalp? Because I know it doesn't work if you're not consistent.

My other question is what are you doing to your hair right now? If your relaxed hair is thinning out but your natural hair is fine I'm thinking that maybe you have protein overload from the megatek. Or it could be that the relaxed ends just look so much thinner against the new growth. That happened to me. Congrats on your decision to go natural!

I have used MT for about 3 months about 2-3 times a week. Growth has definitely been good. See siggy pics!
