It's ghetto. But, I'd do it and would not be shamed... mainly because I grew up in the hood and moved to the suburbs. Sometimes you just have to surprise 'em take it back to the hood. LOL

Seriously, I am all for finding methods to gain sleeping hours, especially since I'm holding down an extra gig. It almost makes me want to BC, so I won't have to fight multiple textures. I loved getting up, wetting my entire head and having it dry AND looking like something by the time I made it to work.

When VA buses get wall to wall mirrors - there will be a hair doing epidemic.

As women parade in and out I am shamelessly taking down twists, sealing my ends pinning, scrunching, spraying my hair for hold. You'd think I was in my home bedroom, lol, with all that. It is a 25 min production (but adds to my sleep time and I'm never late this way).

But it has served an educational purpose. 1 woman approached me yesterday thrilled to see me again so that she could get the goods on all the products I was using and what my regimen was and to praise my hair (it's length, curl pattern, healthy natural look). She actually took my picture ! Of course I let her know all about NC.com. So it seems my ghetto hair routine was inspirational to another curly
Ok, I'm going to be bold and say that it sounds ghetto to me because doing your hair in public is..."ghetto". LOL just joking, I just wish I had the courage or the nerves but even if I did, I don't think I would get away with it living in the Washington DC area. I take a commuter bus from Virginia to DC...need I say more.
Thanks BugEyez! I know you feel me.

When I remove my scarf and the twist's pop out -blam, blam - in all directions it does surprise 'em.

LOL, I like your sense of humor and I'm still laughing. "When VA buses get wall to wall mirrors - there will be a hair doing epidemic."

Talking It happened again

Another ferry trip, another convert. So this morning as I was in full twist out hair production mode in the ferry bathroom another lady stopped me to ask what cream I was using (QHemet's) and what my hair routine was. I told her about NC.com of course. At the end she went to shake my hand (I told her it was greasy) and she said that's alright and she patted her hair w/ the qhemet's that transferred during the handshake, lol. I am a true commuter celebrity . When TMZ starts to stalk me in the bathroom I'll know I've made it!

LOL! I'm loving that she patted her hair with the QHemet from the handshake! If this keeps up you're going to end up holding informational classes in that bathroom!
