HI, I'm new
Hello fellow curlies,
I have been lurking on this site for a long time now and decided that it is finally time to introduce myself. I'm 29 married with 3 kids and I'm a sahm. i've been natural pretty much my whole life but I've been through alot of ups and downs with my hair. Normally, I would say that my hair is 3b/3c mostly 3c but everytime I have a baby the texture of my hair changes and I think that now I'm a 4a. Right now I'm dealing with postpartum shedding and frizz. No matter what I do to it, it just always seems to end up in a big puff. Since I've been on this site I've been using more natural products, so I'm really loving how moisturized my hair is and how moveable it is. Any suggestions on how to deal with frizz would be helpful. Thanks

Right now I'm using Oyin, frank juice, whipped pudding, and shine and define. I wash my hair with chagrin valley soaps and use giovanni 50:50 or Aohr. I also do a nettle hair rinse about every other day because I've had some breakage at my temples. I've used sheam, jessicurl wdt, fantasia ic and long aid to try to get my curls to hold but they always fall and I end up with frizz. I'm starting to feel like it's just hormonal and I'm going to have to ride it out. My first son is 13 and my curls did not come back until he was around 3 or 4. I really don't want to have to deal with frizz for four years. I have pics but I don't know how to make them small enough to attach them. (sorry for any typos, I'm typing with one hand and my 5 month old in the other).

Your routine sounds on point. How often do you DT? Infusing moisture into my hair twice or three times a week has helped tremendously with my frizzies.

your routine does sound pretty good. my hair turned to a 4a while i was pregnant. and it was so freakin thick. i wanted to shave my head because it was the exact opposite of what i was used to dealing with. it could be hormones though. and if i do the math right, you were a teenager when you had your first son so maybe pregnancy hormones combined with puberty hormones caused your hair to go crazy. alot of curlies (especially ones with looser curls) either lost their curl or their hair turned curly in those teenage years. so, hopefully your hair wont take 3-4 years to get it back to where you want it!
ouidad climate control gel or kinky curly curling custard would be my frizz buster recommendations. also how are you applying your gel? maybe thats what the problem is...

I usually apply my gel after my leave-in or moisturizer. It is really thick right now and I don't have a problem with that or the texture, I just hate that it look so frizzy. Here is a link to some pics. I hope this works. PW=CURLYGIRL

I've tried kccc before and it was crunchy. Maybe I will try it with the KT. I'm waiting on samples from Qhemet. Thanks for the suggestions.

HELP
I'm new too and needs lots of help... I typically wear my hair straight, but I have been natural for 2 years now... and just attempted the "curly" do this summer. I want to know which products work well and pretty much where to start. It doesnt help that I am addicted to trying new products and hair health. I already deep condition every week with Ojon restorative treatment and some Nexxus KeraTin something...
I just bought devaCURL no-poo which is taking some getting used to and the Condition One and the leave in Gel and AngGel...(so basically the whole line)
Oh and Miss Jessies Stretching cream..(not sure if I like it. cant really tell what it does)
and Miss Jessies Baby Buttercream
I am trying to grow out my hair a little longer. Its a little past my shouldres straight and middle of my neck curly.
My problem: I am 3c on one side(right side) and 3b on the left... its sooo aggravating . Frizz and thickness GALORE.
Does anyone have any suggestions to help me... where do I even start. I am putting up pictures now...
Sorry so long...please help

Thanks sooo much for the complement. It really helps me feel better about my hair. I think having two babies in two years is what's causing the frizz.
Jamoncurlz, I think your hair is really pretty. I would say just find a really good leave-in and a tiny bit of gel or just use a thick conditioner if you don't like gel.
