Detangled with SM black soap conditioner (trying to use it up)
Washed (in twists) with moisture retention shampoo
Applied gvp balm and sat under dryer with plastic cap for 15 minutes
Left balm in and retwisted with sm yucca milk

After 8mos being natural I finally did my hair in 2 strand twists last night (used Tigi Cherry Almond leave in and sweet almond oil).

I promised the little one I would post this because she told me she's naturally curly too.

I prepooed Sunday morning with Silicon Mix Bambu. Washed her hair on Sunday with VO5 Tea Therapy Green Tea Shampoo and Chamomile Conditioner. Detangled with QB Cocoa Tree Detangling Ghee and braided with DB Tucuma Butter Moisture Whip. Last night took down braids and made four ponytails.

She had tons of shrinkage but the OB/DB left her hair super moisturized which is a miracle. I tried the OB Burdock Root Cream in her hair and it laughed at it. Her hair was like straw with that one.

Too cute danielle!!!

Refreshed my hair (I promise I won't do it over again today lol) with Oyin Honey Hemp because the Curly Whip didn't have long lasting moisture alone, then applied a bit more CW in case the HH made my hair too soft. Then spritzed with a little Headsprung for the hair perfume.

Day 3 twist out (washed Monday night).

Last night I retwisted my hair in 4 large twists and moisturized with water, Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Style Conditioning Milk and sealed with Zipporah Beauty Green Tea Hair Butter on the ends.

This morning I sprayed a little of their Raw Shea Butter Strengthening Elixir on my hair because the air on the train (Amtrak) is pretty dry.

Washed my scalp with SM Black Soap Deep Cleansing Shampoo because my scalp was on FIYAH this morning. Conditioned with SM Black Soap Balancing Condish mixed with Tresemme Naturals, finger detangled, missed a couple of spots. YTCucumbers for leave-in, Roots of Nature Whipped Coil Cream for styler (got it for $1.99 @ Walgreens - had to try) and some QB OHHB on the ends. In a French twist with a little hanging out in front. I will do a better job detangling tonight when I get home.

It seems small on the surface, but the more little girls (and boys) see us with our natural hair, the more it will be "normal" and want to follow that path.

still rockin the twistout from sunday mornin---last night i was too lazy to retwist my hair. so i slept with a shower cap on my head. woke up this morning, took off the shower cap, shook my head to loosen the curl and that was it. love it.

Was trying to do the twist out today but ran late and my scalp is dirty.

I'll take them down and wash with my plant poo then dc with the MHC OliveYou and WnG either with Shida Naturals or blue Eco. I'm an hour away from home though. Ugh!

I won't say it hasn't been a challenge. Even knowing how to do my own hair didn't prepare me for doing my daughter's hair the past nine years. Her hair is completely different from mine. Everything my hair likes, her hair hates and vice versa.

Her hair has gone from natural to texturized at the age of 6 to transitioning to big chop at the age of 8 back to natural. Through it all despite her interest in straight hair, she loves her curls. I think that's fantastic especially when she goes to school with girls who have had weaves since pre-school. No...I'm not kidding.

Slightly off-topic, when my dd was in pre-school, there used to be this little girl who would say good morning sometimes. I noticed I didn't see her all the time, so I asked my daughter if she only came to school certain days. She told me the little girl was there everyday and came to say good morning to me everyday. Now I knew I didn't see this girl everyday until the teacher pulled me aside and said "Yes you do see her everyday. Some days she has long ponytails, some days she doesn't." Turns out the mother would add extra hair to her ponytails every now and then. smh

Slept with Darcy Botannicals deep condish on my head with a cap, jumped in the shower this am, detangled, rinsed. Came out, sectioned, applied DB peach Kernel hair milk to ea section(half a pea-sized dot) and smoothed in my go to styler for the moment- UFD! Did the head shake, and headed to work!

I know a little girl (6 years old at the time) she had a bald spot at the crown of her head because her parents made her wear a ponytail weave. It looked as if a bobby pin was pressing on her scalp because there is an indentation . They are constantly putting that cheap braiding hair in her head and wonder why her hair is not growing. One day when she was wearing her hair braided with extensions she swung them back and forth and told me how much she loved her hair with the extension. I asked her if she loved her hair without the extensions and she said she did not know. I thought it was sad.
