I cowashed again. My hair is dry like it typically is after a henna. Takes a minute to recover.

Wash, DC, twists. Two of my twists have little to no curl at the ends. That bothers me. I think I stress them too much when I use headbands & ponytail holders. Going to have to return to low manipulation styles.
I'm cashing out

Washed with Trader Joe's Tea Tree Tingle to get the initial gunk out, then two rounds of Terressentials Lavender mudwash and deep conditioned with my new Jessicurl Deep Conditioner w/ my heat cap. Luv how the Jessicurl felt when I applied and rinsed 30 minutes later. Used my As I Am Leave-in to do 8 chunky twists and sealed with my oil mixture. I can't wait to take my twists down tomorrow!

Rinsed out my overnight rhassoul clay mix, then proceed to DC with Shea Bliss by BeUnique and I twist up using the moisture custard and mango butter from the the BeUnique range.
Loving my rhassoul clay sessions. I mixed in cocoa butter and dark cocoa butter and coconut oil with hot water and i am good to go. loving the soft fluffy results.

I have my hair in braids i'm going to take down later for braid out. I have avoided protein since my henna treatment but I think it is time to go back to my protein ro. My hair feels a little too soft. Borderline overconditioned mushy.

Five hours and twenty minutes later, I finished my mini twists. You can bet they're staying in for at least two weeks. Before and after.
Well, you guys know which one is before and which is after.

Do you spritz with a water based product to prevent dryness? You can try 2/3 of water and 1/3 of pure Aloe Juice in a spritz bottle. Then go through and seal with an oil or a butter. This helps me alot when I wear mini twists (90% of the time). Make sure you don't over wet your hair, but just lightly spritz just enough to dampen it. HTH.

Hey there!
Since I have some tight 4a curls in the front I wrapped them around my finger to make them look like the curls on the crown. Didn't really work the way I wanted. They coiled too much (even though I didn't use the coiling method). You can see in the second and third picture that the curls near my forehead look different then the un-fingercoiled ones higher up my head. But I think it looks cute. My hair is long enough for a semi-updo now!

Today is my wash day. Normally I co-wash and then twist, but it needs a shampoo to get rid of product build up.

Usually I spritz at night in between washes but I was super dooper tired and lazy that week and didn't and I paid for it. Even with spritzes by day 4 without denching my hair it gets super dry. so I try to do every third day. although my hair is happiest with every other day.

Saturday I put my hair in a ponytail and left the bangs twisted
Sunday I took the ponytail down and moisturized, put it back up. At night I french braided the ponytail and retwisted the bangs with Nothing but Curly Pudding and Curl Sealer.
This morning ponytail'd again and twisted out the bangs

Nothing yet but I'm going to try miss Jessie's stretching technique on dry hair. Wish me luck.

Think Ima wash, condition, and retwist it. Maybe not mini twists but not big.

Twisted my bang with Nothing but Curly Pudding and Curl Sealer, applies both to two sections of hair and ponytail then tucked the ends under.

So I attempted to color my hair over the weekend and...well...
I used Clairol Professionals Demi-Permanent in 3R with the warm booster...
Took the plunge and decided to do my whole head for the max time of 45 minutes...
But, no dice, the color did not take...
I am gonna say that demi is just not for me. I need lift and not only deposit. The only areas with some change are the sections of my hair that were already lighter from this summer. I called Clairol today and the CS rep, very nice lady named Laura, told me for naturally darker shades, I am going to need some lift. I told her I wanted a deep auburn/burgundy and she recommended their Liquicolor Permanente in 64r. However, she warned that although the demi may not show, my hair is still treated and I should wait 4-6 weeks to make sure it is out before processing again...I guess I can wait...

I can see some color. Maybe demi is like henna in that for me it takes a few days for it to look like I colored my hair. Actually my hair color both natural (reddish brown) and hennaed are only super apparent in bright sunlight. Indoors people think my hair is black.
