Friday I washed with Giovanni Tea Tree poo, used Aphogee 2 minute reconstructor, then DT with honey, oils, Flaxseed decoction, AVG, and lustrasilk mango and Shea. Tried to do a twistout with Flaxseed gel, homemade hair butter, SMSB leave in. Twistout done by me - not a good look, Friday nite look - the puff. Saturday co wash with TJ nourish, Mop Top dail conditoner leave in, stylers - SBSM leave in, flax seed gel, home made hair butter. Dry under hood dryer. Hair looked fabuolous (sp) why cant my hair look like this when I air dry? and I had second day hair and I did not tie it up or sleep on my satin pillow case. In the AM I just fluffed with my homemade butter.

I ended up straightening today so I can have a mini-break from washing and going. I don't do it too often so its a slow affair (1 1/2 hours). Jeesh.

I ended up buying the FHI Hot Sauce and used it today. Not too bad. Made my hair easier to comb but it stop the world from turning.

Default I'm Finding Out that Less is More

I just washed, put a little conditioner (Elucence) as a leave in. After my hair was almost dry I just picked it out with a regular pick I got from Wal-Mart. I was wasting a lot of time on my hair and I'm too busy right now. Here is a photo.

Today I did the fluff thing with Set it Free and Burdock Root Butter Cream. Yesterday was the wash day:
  • Chagrin Valley orange cremesickle soap bar
  • John Masters Organics Citrus & Neroli conditioner & detangler, rinsed about 70% out
  • Claudies Satin Moisturizing lotion
  • Qhemet Honebush Tea hair gel and I tested a little KBB nectar on some pieces
  • Plopped then KCCC, then airdried 90% then diffused.

Thank you! I'm going to DC to my niece's wedding leaving on Friday so I do plan to spend some time on a style. It will probably be a strawset since I've mastered it and don't want to risk a bad hair day on Saturday. I'll strawset on Thurs. night keep the curls unseparated until right before the wedding on Sat. and then separate and fluff. I like Nikki's twist & curl styles but so far its been hit or miss for me and my hair don't always come out just right and my natural curl is basically gone thanks to Henna. If I brush it w/ my Goody brush its darn near frizzy straight. It takes nothing to zap it straight with my Sedu flat iron w/one pass. I just enjoy practicing the natural styles and only use the iron occassionally.

I know this is too long. I'll post a photo after the wedding.

No more $248.25/mo train pass to buy and its the same train (different route) that had the big crash with the Engineer sending text messages--since I'm now riding with my oldest daughter, who is a lawyer and has a Hybrid car, I'm enjoying sitting back and relaxing. I'm really enjoying having her take care of Mom. She drops me off and picks me up at my job. What I poured into her is coming back to me. I'm blessed!!! I know this is off subject. Just wanted to let you guys know that in spite of my husband going home to be with the Lord, my family has kept my spirits high and that I'm fine.

What a fun thread! Adiamond, go head girl. Your look is too cute!

Well, I tried a new arsenal of goodies this week to combat my dry hair.
  • Cowash with Trader Joe's Nourish Spa
  • Condish with AOHR
  • Mixed some of the above as a leave in
  • Twist out styled with shea butter/jojoba mix
  • Been adding the mix for moisture daily
  • Used some castor oil this morning - omg wow!
So far so great! Everything I used made a difference I could feel. I think my hair got used to my previous products so they weren't helping at all. Lesson learned. Encourage the pj within and try a new regimen every few months. I did it when I was relaxed, so why did I stop? duh.

Last night I tried my hand at single strand flat twists. I am horrible at styling hair, so even though they are not perfect they are better than I expected. I am just so excited to finally have something else to do besides braids/coils (which take forever ) and puffs (which I like a lot but am trying to cut back on to protect the ends).

I only flat twisted the top half, and I left the back loose. I intended to put twists in the back, but I didn't finish so this morning I just wrapped the back up into a puff. So easy! I will try to finish the twists tonight.

I cannot tell you how excited I was finally do something different with my hair.

I am so excited. i got third day hair. My hair is so big and fluffy. I did a co wash with TJ Nourish, ACV rinse (that stuff smells horrible) Condition with TJ & honey, leave in Mop Top Daily conditioner, Styled with curl Junkie coffee coco curl creme and flax seed gel. applied a little hair butter over top. then I hood dry. At night I have been applying hair butter and pineappling with a satin scrunchi. In the am I jsut fluff with some hair butter and the curl creme. My front did get a little stretched out this AM so I had to rewet and twist. I am going to try this next week. Hopefully I can go at least monday - thursday (Thursday in a puff )

Thanks you! Call me "young" at heart. I guess you guys know I celebrated my 60th and I thank God every day for my health and strength. I continue to walk more than 2 miles on my lunch hour and then at night go to the gym 3 nights for an hr. min. So, lately I've cut back on the time consuming hair routines. Today its just a simple puff.

Also Thank you to Brandycat - I must say I agree - Castor Oil is fantastic!

I just spritzed my twists (protective styling until mid-December) with my homemade daily spritz (it's a Godsend!), and applied MTG to my hairline. A large silk scarf overnight leaves my hair nice and neat. I'll be going to class with my tiny twists.

Very rare for me to wash hair on a weekday morning, and I have a cold too. But I did
- cowashed with Suave Naturals, gave my scalp a good massage
- conditioned & detangled with Curl Junkie Hibiscus & Banana deep fix, washed 70% out
- Added KBB hair Nectar, and the last fingerful of Qhemet Burdock Root Butter Cream.
- Added a little KT because it just helps everything clump
- Plopped
- Gelled with Theraneem Leaf and Aloe Gel
Airdried totally by Noon and it's looking great. Theraneem is not as frizz-proff as KCCC but I can get next day hair from this.

Good hair day to day!

* I cowashed with SalonCare Honey and Almond conditioner
*Deep condished for 20 min with KBB Hair mask
*Used a combo of Knot Today, Qhemet Olive & Honey Balm, & KBB Hair milk as a leave-in ( KT is detangling but lacking in moisture so the Qhemet's & KBB helped out in the emolliency department)
*used Phytodefrisant for frizzies.

My hair is shiny, defined, & soft. I'm happy.
