So... 4a/b's What did you do to your hair today?

I shampooed, dc'ed, then did a twist and curl using perm rods. For the first time I used my new Bobeam ayurvedic shampoo bar and first time using jcs twistout foam. I think I got my best result ever with perm rods. I thought the shampoo was a little drying but that is how ayurveda is for me. I just up my conditioning because it is worth how my hair feels healthier. The twistout foam I liked. I think my hair dried faster. I spent 20 minutes under dryer low heat then went to bed. Woke up and hair completely dry
I tried my first ever 3 strand twist. I watched a few videos. Looked easy enough. Tried it. Seemed to go well. Results. EPIC FAIL
I think I know where I went wrong. I can't do braids on freshly washed hair or my hair won't dry well. I somehow thought 3 strand twists would be different but apparently not to my hair. I woke up this morning and most of my hair felt like I just stepped out the shower. Glad I'm off today. Cowashed and 2 strand twisted.
I washed my hair then decided to do a blow out for the first time XD

Sort of. I was originally just going to dry it a bit with the drier, but i had free time so I stretched it as big as I could. It was like a warm- sometimes itchy- cloud that occasionally got in the way since it made my head about three times as large XD

I pre-pooed with Vaseline today. I wash with a sulfate-based shampoo, so I wasn't too worried about it being buildup-y and gross (I like to use silicones, so that's why I use sulfate-based shampoo). I focused mostly on my dry ends and rubbed the extra Vaseline through the length of my hair.

I really liked it. After shampooing my hair, my ends didn't feel crunchy and tangley like they usually do.

The LOC method is still working well for me.
Hair type: Mostly 3C, medium porosity to high porosity depending on the day, dense, fluffy, dry, tangly!

I rinsed this morning and used Oyin Honey Hemp Conditioner as a leave in, sealed with Coconut Oil and Styled with Camile Rose Almond Jai Twisting Butter. I decided to do braids with perm rods on the ends for a braid n curl out instead of 3 strand twists. I also used melted Shea butter at my roots to be on the safe side. Super cold in my neck of the woods. Will leave in until Monday!

Inspired bt Nap85 i did no first attempt at perm rod set on dry hair. It came out prtty well for first try. I think I see what I did wrong. It made me feel better she said hers never comes out right on wet hair. Mine either because of the thickness of my hair but this cuts the drying time. I ended up making it a puff with some of front curls out. Lots of compliments today. The only problem I have is after day three my hair is ready to be washed so I guess I need to set right after the first day to get at least two days out of it.
Did a wash and go. It looks super cute. Received compliments And I hate it. This mess is still wet at the roots at 7 pm and I noticed a bunch of ssks in the front. I did it try it out on the reformulated ecostyler. So now I know and won't be doing it again soon
I posted some pics of my twist and curl. Very happy with it. I cowashed. Applied my JCS leave in and my SM soufflé using my finger stick method. I then decided to use a little bit of fsg because it is the only thing that keep the hair dryer from drying out my roots. I then used my Eco. Let my hair stretched in clips 20 minutes. The twisted and rolled. Big front. Small in back to avoid shag look from looser curls there. My hair dried waayyy faster than ever has under dryer. Soft. Shiny. Only thing is a little greasy because I used an existing batch of fsg that had oil. I have not been using oil with soufflé.

So my idea is since soufflé is a great moisturizer but so sticky. It already has flax oil why not dilute it by adding it to FSG. Next time I make my FSG I'm going to try this and experiment with ratio. I'm thinking one teaspoon soufflé for cup of fsg. Any thought on more or less?

Washed my hair last Saturday, and since then have been doing about 25 twists at night with a little...

Water (or SM Shine & Moisture Mist or SM Curling Soufflé) for moisture
+
III Sisters of Nature Curling Gelo for amazing anti-humidity hold.

I am so, so, so pleased with the results. Much better shine and hold than Eco Styler w/ Olive Oil. Hair bounces when I go down the stairs. Crazy light and no crunch When it rains or humidity is super high, my hair stays defined w/ no frizz. When I untwist, I rub a dollop of coconut oil on my hands to add shine and reduce frizz. Days 2-5 have been the best. Day 1 was very shrunken & "thin-looking" b/c I didn't stretch while it dried.

Today... i did do nothing to my hair.
but i washed it like 3 times this week so far because i didnt like how it felt.
So i settled on a line of product i am going to use until i run out,
my hair is a whole lot better when i do nothing but twist it up and leave it alone for a week.
Pre-Poo: Aleo/acv + oil
Shampoo: Shampoo bar
Conditiner: A Mix of things
Leave-in: thick leave in/ butter
Refresh: light leave in /water/oil
Today I fluffed.

I like the organic look of fuzzy twists, coils and distinctly uniform and clumped twists in an afro, so I have been letting my hair stay 20% in mini twists and some unraveled mini twists that I spritzed with a bit of water to lose definition.

I was going for the look of yaasoulrebel: http://blackgirllonghair.com/wp-cont...el-300x300.png

After a tragic braid out at the beginning of the week I was frustrated and bored with my hair and almost gave up. Then I decided to finally try the crochet marley braids I been hearing so much about. Such a great protective style I must say! Installation takes time and can be tricky for first timers like myself but after the 2nd attempt I got it down and im loving it.

Youtube: "Crochet Marley braids" and pick a video. I used Lekita's video to do mine. One thing I will mention is this style works best when you brush or comb the marley hair out before soaking in the boiling hot water.
