Frizzy/Fuzzy Cornrows! What to do?

Hello....

I seek guidance on how to reduce and/or avoid my cornrows from getting so frizzy/fuzzy. I got these braids done about a week and a half ago, a simple style with 20 braids going toward the back into a bun and three loose braids sweeping the side.

The cornrows were done with Biba synthetic hair.

I was advised to put some oil on the braids (not necessarily the scalp) to keep down the frizzes. I used olive oil one day, coconut oil another day, and Africa's Best Ultimate oil another day. This resulted in a very sticky, greasy face and the oil just SAT FLAT on the hair. I am researching the possibility that I am a candidate for the no-oil/oil-free routine.

So, since the oil isn't working, and I know I need moisture, my next step was to make a rosemary tea spritz, figuring that the water would help moisturize. The rosemary tea spritz included the tea, jojoba oil, vitamin E, a small drop of glycerin, and about 20 drops each of rosemary EO and peppermine EO. This was refreshing a couple of days and then the itching began.

I then read about putting Sea Breeze on the scalp to help with cleansing, esp. since I did not want to put water directly on the cornrows (to avoid the fuzzy frizzies!). I mixed the Sea Breeze with a small amount of jojoba oil and sprayed that on my hair. Again, refreshing and tingling....

I am still concerned about getting enough moisture, avoiding dryness, and promoting maximum hair growth. Also, since I plan to wear cornrows and braids throughout the spring and summer, I need to get an effective routine together.

I have done searches about this. I thank you in advance for your informative responses!
When I have braids I spray with Oyin Greg juice for moisture. http://oyinhandmade.com/oyin/index.p...&products_id=1

For none frizzy braids and twists I use Taliah Waajid Crincles and Curls: http://www.treasuredlocks.com/blacearprodc.html

These products are perfect if you are on the no oil routine.

My hair likes both oil and no oil products.

I would try Taliah Waajid's protective mist bodifier (for moisture). I use FOTE AVG for calming frizzies then tie it down.

Also, to cleanse your scalp when it becomes itchy or gooey, use ACV rinse mixture or sea breeze (or witch hazel). Using a q-tip,moisten the end with either, and run it over exposed parts of the scalp.

This will help them to last. From what I have read, you are only supposed to keep cornrows for 2 - 3 weeks.

Another trick is to smooth some gel over the braids and tie it down good with a silk scarf. You can buy some time with that technique too.

Classic 4a/b, fine, dense, normal to dry, low porosity
I'd use something like IC Fantasia. It's alcohol free and doesn't contain mineral oil or petroleum.

My only question is if the hair that's sticking out getting damaged? I was afraid of this, so I dug into my product graveyard for some Kheils creme w/ silk groom. I rub that over my braids hoping to prevent breaking, use gel for laying down edges and Greg juice for moisture.

Do you rinse/wash your braids?? I'm so glad this post came up, cuz I was almost tempted to take them out prematurely.....Now I realize the fuzzies are normal...

Once I'm clear about how to reduce the frizzies, then I'll wash them diligently.... I will invest in some of the Greg Juice for moisture, and I have aloe vera gel and some Fantasia IC, so I'll give those products a try....
