I think it depends on what products you are currently using. If your products contain cones, then you might want to clarify perhaps once or twice a month depending on what type of cones are in the product you're using. This article is great and it's all about silicones and which ones are water soluble and which ones aren't. For myself, I usually allow my hair to tell me when it's time to clarify. My hair tends to feel extremely dry and frizzes a lot more when I have product build up. I would say that on average I clarify at least once a month - I do tend to stay away from products heavy in silicones - but every now and then I do experiment.

If you decide to clarify just make sure you treat yourself a good deep conditioning treatment so that you replace some of the oils that will be lost when you clarify.

it all depends. usually it is for build-up on your scalp or if your hair is dirty.

As often as you need it. I use one once every 3 weeks or or once a month depending on what products I use.

I think as often as needed. I tend to clarify once a month and that does the job for my hair/scalp.

anyone use siilcone often

My sealant and gel have silicones in them. It's hard to find ones that don't, unless you can recommend me some. ANYWAYS. . . . using those daily, do you think once a week is enough for clarifying?
