I am going to try the maximum hydration method, which is similar to curly girl, I gather. So I bought KCCC... it smells like CD Black Vanilla line, which I kinda like. I tried it after doing a baking soda rinse and just KCKT leave in, but I have to use so so much for (shocked that I have them form so readily) clumping coils. It works better on my 4b nape area. I'm waiting for my Aztec clay on order at WF grocery to really see if the MHM works.

I also used some spare $ to buy Naturalicious Rhassoul 5 in 1 clay treatment in kinky/curly edition....officially done buying hair products after my Aztec clay comes in....!

I wish KCCC was couponable somewhere!

I need to stay off the internet!

SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen, Grow & Restore Leave-In Conditioner (w/ Shea Butter, Peppermint & Keratin), $10.99 @ CVS.

I recently finished my go-to creamy leave-in conditioners, so I thought to try something new, as the weather is suddenly in the 50s (F) and the dry hair time of year is already here!!

At first, it seems pricey, but the tub is 16 oz (453 g), which is more than the Curl Enhancing Smoothie (12 oz, 240 g). I LOVE the smell of this (reminds me of "warm" candies like butterscotch and white chocolate peppermint cream coffees), but I am so hesitant about some of the ingredients...

I finally killed off most of my stash (except for my shampoos which take forever for me to use up) so I went on a shopping spree on vitacost. I purchased:

-Alaffia Nourishing Conditioner For Dry or Damaged Hair Shea and Honey
-Beautiful Curls Curl Activating Leave-In Conditioner Shea Butter
-Beautiful Curls Leave-In Conditioner for Wavy to Curly Hair
-EO Essential Oil Products Conditioner with Keratin Coconut & Hibiscus
-Mill Creek Biotene H-24® Natural Conditioner
-Mill Creek Biotin Conditioner
-Mill Creek Botanicals Jojoba Conditioner
-Mill Creek Organic Keratin Conditioner
-Pure & Basic Natural Reconstructing Coconut Conditioner
-Pure Life Conditioner Papaya

I can't wait to dig in!
Type: 4a Fine Texture
CG since 2008 - Life long natural
Holy Grails
Co-wash: v05 Moisture Milks
Conditioner: Jessicurl Too Shea!
Leave-ins: Cantu Shea Butter Repair Cream, Camille Rose Moisture Milk
D/T: Spiral Solutions Deeply Decadent Treatment
Protein: Curl Junkie Repair Me
Butters: Qhemet Amla & Olive, Bask Condensed Custard
Oils: Coconut & Grapeseed
African Pride's Bouncy Curls Pudding: tried this stuff during my transitioning phase and it didn't do much for me. Used it on my twists this time and it provided great moisture and sheen but I'm wondering if that's only because my hair was blown out prior to twisting.
Thick mid-length 4a hair
Shampoo: Creme Of Nature Moisture & Shine Shampoo
Cowash: TRESemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner
Deep Conditioner: TRESemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner mixed w/honey & olive oil
Leave-In: TRESemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner
Sealants: olive oil & Blue Magic Conditioner Hair Dress
I have never clarified my hair with a clarifying shampoo and after my last blow out, my curls didn't pop back and my hair felt like straw so I purchased:
Suave's Daily Clarifying Shampoo
Herbal Essence's Totally Twisted Conditioner

If a clarifying and dc treatment doesn't do it, then I guess I'll need a protein treatment.
Thick mid-length 4a hair
Shampoo: Creme Of Nature Moisture & Shine Shampoo
Cowash: TRESemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner
Deep Conditioner: TRESemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner mixed w/honey & olive oil
Leave-In: TRESemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner
Sealants: olive oil & Blue Magic Conditioner Hair Dress
I blame the internet, but I bought 2 Garnier brand products because of a store promo (and because a type 4 woman said this replaced Tresseme Naturals for her):

Garnier Color Styler (temporary rub on color) - Bronze Attitude
Garnier Fructis Pure Clean Conditioner

The conditioner smells okay and it has sufficient slip (and w/ coupons, it's $1), but my hair shrinks up a lot into an ugly mullet after I put this on compared to other conditioners.

It's ok. I use it as refresher. to get the moisture back and defrizzes a bit. It scents florale, like honeysuckle I think not sure. And it's not really meant for curls but it is cg friendly. I'm not fond of the scent. It doesn't pump up the curl. I wouldn't buy it again. Mostly because of the smell. (I've got a sensitive nose)

But I found that it works great as a refresher for a tired wash~n~go. My hair was on Day 5 or 6, whatever the date it was looking a hot mess. I spritzed my hair with some water, applied Curls crème brulee for lightweight added moisture and then applied Eco custard on sectioned off hair, just like I was doing a wash~n~go. My hair was on point! It looked good wet and even better when it dried. I'm thinking next time I might use this over freshly washed hair with a lightweight gel like Curls Goddess for added hold and definition. I would love to know how you use it doh
So I decided to start a thread for us PJ's(hope its not one already like this). Every week, post what you bought and what you think.

So this week I bought:
Lustrasilk Shea and Mango
Refined Shea Butter
Hello Hydration
Coconut Milk

I did the coconut milk and didn't like it(really messy) but it did make my hair super soft. LSSM was ok for leave in but I haven't done anything to my hair yet so we will see. I haven't tried the HEHH yet, I'm still iffy on using it because of the cones but since everyone is raving about it and I feel like my hair need more moisture, I'm going to give it a try. I will not be buying anything else this week....nothing...

What about you!

Unfortunately, I neglected my hair towards the end of 2014 and I suffered for it--more SSK's and hair that looks downright anemic (lack of protein in my hair diet). So off to Ulta, Sally's, Target, CVS I went. Some products I tried in the past, didn't like, but wanted to give them a second chance. Most, however, got returned or I have no plans on using because I realized I still don't like them. Go figure!

CVS: Bedhead Moisture Maniacs conditioner
Target: Shea Moisture Manuka honey and Manura oil line
Sally's & Walmart: Cantu natural hair line
Ulta: Shea Moisture's JBCO masque and leave in (returned that ish with the quickness, it smells like strong cough syrup), Quidad superfuit renewal (returned because I won't get around to using this much shampoo anyway. maybe next year I'll repurchase)-- Okay I decided to re-try some products for the new year just to see how they would go and I still don't like them like Shea Moisture Raw retention shampoo.
Bed, Bath & Beyond: Aunt Jackie's Oh So Clean shampoo, In Control conditioner, Knot on My Watch Detangler, and Curl La La curling custard.
4A-C/ med-high porosity/dense
Pre-poo: TN NC + coconut oil
Shampoo: Curly Sexy Hair
D.C.: SM DT masque mix, Eco-lesterol
Leave-in: Eden BW, SM Detangler, As I Am
Oil: Sweet Almond oil
Moisturizer/Styler:
Pudding: As I Am twist defining cream
Cream: CR Curlaide & MM
Custard: Eco custard
Butter: JC N&S
Milk: OH HD
Gel: Curls passion fruit control paste, Ecostyler, Curls Goddess Glaze & Gel-les-c
Refresher: As I Am cocoashea spray
