Default For those who use aloe vera and castor oil...

What other natural hair products do you use? My hair hates shea butter (it took me two tubs for me to find this out, lol) but loves castor oil and aloe vera (lily of the earth, edible). Combined, it's like

I'm wondering what other natural products I should look out for? I use coconut oil and so far it works great for my body... For my hair? Eh... jury's still out.

Here's a recent thread discussing our favorite oils

Oils? Jojoba, Sweet Almond, Grapeseed, etc

Here's another from the recipe board.

Cheap ingredients and cheap recipes

Thanks! I posted this message just in case anyone else's hair had a similar response to mine with these products.

I'm gonna launch some searches...

My hair is not in love with shea butter either. There are other options. I hope the 2 threads I posted can point you in the right direction.

My hair does much better with Hairveda Almond Glaze than it does with shea butter. I'm going to try a twist and curl this weekend with it.

Can you describe how you apply the aloe and castor? Do you mix them first?

Hi Suburbanbushbabe!

I actually mix the aloe (food grade) with the castor oil and put it in my hair. I just use a half-tablespoon of each since my hair is in flat twists and wrap up my hair in a scarf. Soft and smooth!

I just looked up hairveda and I'm putting that on my wish list....

Both are coming in the mail soon. I'm glad I saw this post will try castor oil and aloe vera food grade mixed. My hair hates raw unrefined shea butter too unless it's processed like in Shea Moisture Leave In. But I'm still happy I bought it because it's and EXCELLENT skin moisturizer and is good in my DCs.

These are two of my favorite products and holy grails in my regimens.

My hair LOVES both.

I'll definitely have to try mixing them together.

Glycerin, coconut milk.

How do you know what your hair likes vs. dislikes? Does shea butter make your hair hard and look dull? I think my hair dislikes it too. But I heard so many people rave about it that I thought maybe I was being too picky.
