How often do you oil your hair?

Recently I discovered that after all my hair can in fact use coconut oil. I guess the quality coconut oil was the problem. My curls have never looked better so I began using it daily at night then co-washing in the morning. I am wondering how long I can ride this coconut oil daily treatment. How often do you oil your hairs? and which oil do you use? I am pondering switching between oils, like vatika coconut oil, shea and avocado..etc.

As of this morning I was using Afroveda's Shikaki oil, but I think I'm having an allergic reaction to the peppermint in it. So I'm going back to my almond oil until I find another ayurvedic oil...

I oil my scalp every other night. I also seal with it to get some shine if my hair is starting to look a little dull.

I use oil every day--morning and night. I typically apply EVOO (cold pressed) every night. I co-wash every day and all my conditioners have oil in them. Currently using castor, coconut (virgin, unrefined), jojoba, tea tree, Vatika and wheat germ.

I apply Vatika as hot oil treatment before I deep condition (every three days or so).
Hair: coarse texture; low porosity; normal density and elasticity

I never got the sealing thing, doesn't it leave hair oily?

How much and which oils do you put in your conditioners? Thats such a great idea, I think I'll try that too. I am so going to be doing DC's every 3 days in the winter as well, no idea why but till now I never really questioned why I think I must do it once a week.

To answer your sealant/oil question: You use a sealant to literally seal in the moisture. Some people don't need to do this. But if I just used a moisturizer and/or leave-in conditioner and didn't add a butter or oil on top, my hair would dry strawlike. As long as I'm not too heavy handed, and the oil is of good quality for me (like I can't use EVOO - doesn't absorb into my hair) it's not oily once it dries. It's shiny and soft.

I put honey, coconut milk and almond oil in my conditioners...

I oil my hair every time I wash it and when I feel like I need it. I wash my hair every week, sometimes every 2 weeks and oil in between.

i oil my ends every night with either virgin coconut oil or (currently) Hairveda Vatika Frosting.

i oil all of my hair once a week before washing. i either use Vatika oil or my own homemade Ayurvedic oil. i usually leave it on overnight.

I oil my hair/scalp every night. i'm finding that the only oil that really aborbs into my hair is jamaican black castor and blackseed oil. all other oils just sit on top. shea butter absorbs. i guess my hair is ever changing. things that once worked don't. things that didn't work do. i like making oil infusions and adding them to my conditioners.
