I think it depends on the man, even tho, in general, most American men like straight hair. Thats just in the U.S., but i think a lot of men outside of the country (i.e. Italy, France, Africa, The Caribbeans) like the natural look. Maybe because it resembles their own women? Alot of the world has curly/kinky hair. (Parts of the Middle East, Africa, Southern Europe) But since America has had such a bad outlook on kinky hair, most of what the men see in the media, is straight or loosely curled hair, and that's what they've been seeing all their lives, so they grow to prefer it over kinky hair, unless taught otherwise.
And nothing is wrong with being called "Exotic", because, we as black women/girls have been seen as ugly and undesirable since we first stepped foot on this land.
Im not a guy, but personally, i think big frizzy, kinky, coily hair is awesome!

Am I the only person, who looks at someone's face?!
I think men look at your face OR body before they look anywhere else. I've worn my hair both ways and hmmmm I've been hit on an equal amount of times, sometimes more on the curly side, since thats how I wear my hair all the time now. Actually when my hair is in a bun looking a hot mess and frizzy from exercise and dressed like a hobo is usually when I get hit on. I think it has to do with your confidence.
Although when I wore my hair straight more white men hit on me...hmmm

Lol! At the bolded.
And i look at faces too, but its also about appearance, when you're just looking at people who are walking down the street. And hair is part of the first impression. You know? Like, a guy will go, cute face, nice body, she has confidence, and she's smiling, and she really keeps it up. (Well, thats what guys my age do).

I guess so, you do have a point. I think the black guys (young black guys) not liking natural hair all that much has to do with the media, like music videos and all the black women usually have weaves with the straight hair and what not. It's always the media! I think older men of all skin color will find you (not you-you but the general you) attractive with natural/weave/whatever hair style you like/etc.

Yeah, because my stepdad still thinks my mom looks good, and she's natural. But guys my age will tell you most of the time that your hair is "nappy" or you look like a slave. Now, there are some guys my age who like the natural look on girls, even when its really kinky.

I know I said I would go away...
I know I said I would go away after my last comment, but SERIOUSLY!
If men had a general preference for anything, WE WOULD ALL BE STRIVING TO LOOK JUST ALIKE!
Maybe I am too far in my 30's, but I don't believe ANYTHING men say they like. That comes from years of experience. I am married and can tell you that last year my husband liked long hair because I had it and this year he likes big hair because I have it.
If you don't learn anything else, KNOW THIS!
An ugly frame on a Picasso is still a Picasso.
An expensive frame on an ugly piece of art is still an ugly piece of art.
Your hair is just a frame.
My hubby who is sitting next to me said it best, "We tell you whatever you need to hear."

I love this quote! Like I'm gonna search out and find a way to use this today.
And I second it. Any man worth his salt would be more concerned about whether you are a decent human being. Not whether your hair curves or falls straight. If he doesn't, be concerned.

I agree with everything you guys are saying, but men still have preferences. My friend is natural, and while her bf likes her natural hair, he prefers it straight. I've had guys tell me both. *Shrugs* Not that I care, just depends on the dude. I personally love my hair, so if he doesn't, rocks can be kicked.
