CurlyArca~

The WT swatches make it impossible to tell what the real shades are. The Chinese II swatch looks way darker than it does in AJ's vid. On the vid it looks like it might be close to Becca's Sepia. The foundation finish on the vid looks great too.

I was also going to suggest MUFE. Make Up For Ever has TONS of shades, and more than the ones that the sell at Sephora. If you're in NYC they have a boutique in the NYU area that can order special shades for you...

This is the only brand where I've seen black foundation. They have white too. I like brands that consider everyone and doesn't just cut off at medium brown. i think the coverage is even better than MAC.
The New Black likes this.

I've never been able to find anything to match my skin color. I do use the Mac tinted moisturizer sometimes in the darkest color it comes in, but that's even too light for me.

But, most people think my skin is completely fine because of the color. I have bad acne scars but I'm the only one who can see them (aside from the dermatologist).

OT I just think Alek Wek's skin is just beautiful. In general, I think dark skin is so attractive. It ages so beautifully (if at all!) I wanted to be dark when I was young and insecure about my own looks, because I didn't like how I looked at all. Darker skin seems so ageless and timeless. Such a beautiful attribute to have.

For drugstore I'd say Iman, For department brands I'd say Fashion Fair , (http://www.fashionfair.com/assembled/home.html)

... or Iman, (http://www.imancosmetics.com/)

..Also check out Ben Nye Entertainment makeup( http://www.stagemakeuponline.com/creme%20colors/ , http://www.bennyemakeup.com/), for stage and film actors. They have an amazing range of colors for every tone.

I tried the Illamasqua shade and it is one of the darkest foundations I've ever seen. I was about to get it for my kit but stopped when I saw the $42 price tag. Some day maybe.

I was in Sephora today and saw that Lancome has a shade about as dark as Illamasqua's.

I've used Mary Kay at the modeling school I where I worked and the brand has some good foundations in dark shades too. I was surprised.

Valana Minerals [valanaminerals.com/] might have her shade. The maker of Valana Minerals is a dark-skinned Black woman. Her make-up line offers foundation in tons of shades of brown--from light to very dark--all with varying undertones.

P.S. I just ordered some samples of her powder and liquid foundation. I'm excited to experiment with them.

I had a horrible experience with Valana Minerals as far as customer service is concerned. Well she lied to me anyway. The owner uses premade makeup bases so if you do buy her powder DONT waste your money on the liquid mousse she's selling. Just buy the cream base from Essential Wholesale she's using and take the powder and mix it with that. She's really ripping people off with that cream. I asked her specifically if she made her own products or if she was a reseller and she lied and said she didn't use bases. The liquid mousse as well as her lipsticks are Essential Wholesale.
