I have been using Natural Jenesis Black Love Wash and it has black soap as the base. I love it! I get great results but this morning I watched Zipporah Beauty's channel on YT and she mentioned black soap has a very high ph of 9 and shampoos are not safe at that high level, which is I guess the reason why it is highly porious? I'm not all into that stuff, I do think it's important but I look at my results too. If my hair is in love, so am I!

I forgot all about black soap! I don't even know who would sell it where I live *sobs*. Sally's, GNC? It is so much better than pure glycerin for getting my fast CLEAN without making it dry. I never feel clean with liquid cleansers or Noxema/Clean and Clear. Putting it in your hair? I don't know about all that, but this thread also brings up a good point - shower filters. I used to have one, but never got it refilled since I only take baths now. Oh wells...I need black soap now! Why do yall do this to me when I'm fully stocked with products?

I absolutely love my Dr. Woods black soap w/ Shea butter. I use it on my face and hair. It gets my hair clean w/o making my hair feel like it's stripped. Dr. Woods has other kids of soap but I have been using the black soap since before I did BC.

I use the Nubian Heritage African Black soap. I use it daily to cleanse my face. I've used it once on my hair, and it felt like I'd just conditioned.

i just used it on my hair today for the first time and like the results. it is like a moisturizing shampoo but more affordable. i did notice that the front of my hair where i rubbed the bar came out a bit frizzy. i'm new to poo bars, now i know not to rub as hard in the future!

i purchased it from my local health food store but they have a website incase anyone is interested: Home

100% Natural Black Soap
ingredients: pure honey, shea butter, osun (carmwood), cocoa pod powder, plantain peel powder, palm kernel oil, coconut oil, water, aloe vera

Default 14 months without a solid hair routine :-(

I am interested in using black soap for my hair after doing all of the research.
Would it be safe to use an olive oil and honey hot conditioner in my hair afterwards?

Should i rinse out the soap with cold water?
