My hair knots up at the end, HELP!!!

I need help!I have 4b - 4c (if there is such a thing) kinky, thick type hair. My hair knots up at the end, like the individual strains of my hair has teeny tiny knots on the end of them . How can I prevent this from happening and should I clip my hair more often because of it??

Shampoo: 365 whole food brand
Co-wash: Suave coconut
DC: phytojoba or alter ego (I add a little EVOO and honey to both)
Twist outs: Miss jessies curly pudding
Experimenting with: unrefined cocnut oil, infusium23 leave in, KCCC, and anything I can get my hands on
(I plan on shortening this list as I find out what my hair likes!!!!)
I have seen my single strand knots reduce dramatically with hot oil treatments about every two weeks and not letting my hair just shrink down and dry i.e. twisting or braiding. I also put oil in my deep treatments as well. I don't clip any more often.
I wouldn't recommend clipping the ends but I know a lot of ladies on here do it. I would suggest DTs once a week if need be and if its been more than 6 or 7 mths, I'd suggest a trim. I waited forever to get my hair trimmed but I'm so glad I did. It looks much better and she only took the ends off. No haircut was needed and much less tangle issues.

MOISTURE was key for me!

Also, when I fingerstyle my hair and leave it out with a wash and go, it tangles alot more compared to being twisted or in a ponytail, especially in the back of my head.

Also, I totally think its about the CONDITIONER. A great conditioner with a wide tooth comb in 4 sections always prevents this for me.

I don't think knots can be eliminated completely...only controlled. I don't get many knots, but I do get them occasionally, and I don't sweat it.

Just continue to take good care of your hair, which includes keeping your ends moisturized.

I have 4b/c hair as well and my hair does this same type of thing so in the early stages I cut them off... BIG MISTAKE I ended up losing most of my twa (i did it myself by the way) I was about the same amount of time n from my bc as u roughly 2mos. A short while after that they came back so I just co wash often with VO5 MM passion fruit smoothie and seal the ends of my twist/braids with olive oil or jamaican black castor oil. Then as the ladies b4 said DEEP CONDITION weekly. Plus it helps while u have the twist in 2 spritz it often with some type of oil as well....

What do you ladies use for your hot oil treatments? My hair knots up, too, and I'd like to tame the beast...
the only time I get knots is if I dont moisturize the ends of my hair well and then it tangles upon itself, so I make sure I massage a slippery product onto the ends especially and then twirl to keep the ends smooth and curled up
The best way to prevent knotting is regular trimming and protective styles because they stretch out the hair and prevent constant detangling.

The right hair tools could bring big difference to your hair styling finish!
I had this problem myself when i first went natural the key for me is to keep my hair in protective styles. like twist, braids buns etc

My routine till March 29:
Individual braids

Sounds like your hair is like mine. Dense and tangly. I still have a lot of tangling problems but the ends seem to be OK if I put coconut oil on while they are still wet. Some shea butter is also good if you need something with more hold. curlynikki has great tips on her website.

My single strands knots decreased dramatically since I've been using castor oil. I do click my ends every two to three months as well though.

I have noticed that my hair was less tangley when it was flat ironed but I'm trying to stay off the heat.

How do you do your heat stretching??

I also have 4b hair that gets knots at the end. But Iv'e found that if I split my hair into sections and comb my leave in conditioner through my hair I have less knots when I do my hair once it has dried. Also, try combing your ends first before combing the rest of your hair.
Hi just wondering if you wet your hair everyday?? you hair looks great!!
Keeping my hair streched has helped alot. Instead of doing many tiny plaits or twists and only do about 4 or 5. With each section of hair I smooth and then braid.
