Looks like I'll be checking up on Koils By Nature's Facebook page...she likes to give butters away. She posted that she over mixed and gave 3 butters away around 11 pm East coast time on Monday.

Her butters are the greatest thing since sliced bread. I've getting the most shiniest silkiest bantu knots outs ever with that stuff.

I really wished I would've gotten one of the butters, they sound wonderful.

Anyone have their gel go bad? I've had mine less then a month and only used it once. I was getting ready to use it again and it smells funny and looks like rubber cement....gross ! I e-mailed the owner about it and waiting to see what she says. Anyone else have this experience?

+1 and my ends are not DRIED OUT! Usually after I've done a wet style my ends dry out easily no matter what I use and with her butter and gel that doesnt happen!

Pamela just posted this on the FB site:

Storing Your Koils by Nature Products:

Please store your Koils by Nature products in a cool dark place and even in the refrigerator if you don't use them everyday! In order to provide you all with all natural and organic products I only use natural preservatives, but the must be stored in the proper conditions in order... to reach it's full shelf life which is 4-6 months!

Have a wonderful day!

Sorry about the bold.. pasted in that way...

It's time for me to redo my braidout and I'm trying to hold out for my KBN package.

Ooo that's good to know. My ends dry out easily with the braidout. The only thing that keeps my ends from drying is the QB BRBC and that didn't work for me on a braidout. Now I'm even more anxious for my order to arrive!

I litte extra peppermint gel on the ends for insurance and no issues with the ends. Its VERY moisturizing for a gel..

Actually I did store it in a cool dark place. The same place where I keep my homemade FSG with little preservative and have never had it spoil. I did receive a very quick response though and I'll have to say they have great customer service. Next time I will order a butter or two.

I think I've posted this before, but I don't think she uses a strong enough preservative for a product that you dip your fingers in everyday. Storing it in the fridge won't do a thing. It needs an anti-fungal preservative. I had a jar of kinky curly for 1 year, under my sink in 100 degree weather in Sacramento and it did not go bad, at all. She did add potassium sorbate to her leave-in, which is good, but not to her conditioner.

This is my first post on this forum. I had the same experience. I got two gels and a butter. I have had them for maybe two weeks and they smell horrid...rancid. I only used them once. I emailed Pamela yeterday regarding this, but have not heard back. I don't think anything should go bad this quickly...should it?

NO. And since it is now summer, products will sit in the hot Post office and truck. So by the time it gets to you it's almost spoiled. Not good.

She is replacing the gel for me but now I'm kind of leary of it going bad so quickly. I've had my FSG (with little preservative) and KCCC in the same place I kept the gel and it's the only thing that went bad...go figure.

I received my samples of the gel and butter yesterday so after my weekly wash I decided to twist my hair using them and the results were awesome.
I wasn't expecting much but my twist out today was great. Not only was it soft and very defined but I got amazing shine.
I just placed another order for the 16oz gel.

I received my order yesterday! Everything smells sooooo good. If the gel works out, the next time I'll order the lavender or unscented...the peppermint is a little too strong. I used some of the mango butter on my legs and it works great. I can't wait to use it on my hair tomorrow.
