Would like to clarify my hair goals
1) Hair to be healthy and happy
2) have a good system with plenty of different products on hand to use - with some set ideas on how to use them
3) no more allergy-related scalp problems - which actually have gone away since i overhauled the routine at beginning august
4) breakage/bald spots at temples to be filled in and have strong growth so that it can be protectively braided by march/feb... ideally at least 1 inch shrunk
5)short bits of hairline to be at least 1-2" shrunken
6) 80% of the top and front to be at least chin length stretched by feb
7) 85% of total head to be at least shoulder length stretched by beginning august of next year (of course challenge is not running that long)
my main concern is the front.... if the back stayed the way it looks right now it wouldn't be a terrible thing...... it's the unevennness that i want to get rid of and especially the front is just at a funny uneven stage that limits how i can wear my hair
ROUTINE / METHODS
This will probably have to change as the weather gets colder
1) washing hair 5-7 days week, using different cleansing methods
2) massaging & oiling hairline and front/top of head w- special mixtures - ideally every day but realistically will shoot for no fewer than 5 days a week including the oil times below where i oil the hair shaft
3) heat cap treatments at least 4 times a week as follows:
-- 2 nights with egg yolk mixtures...... w- a different one for scalp (see above)
-- 2 nights with just plain oil in hair on at least the last 2/3 of the hair shaft.....
-- i seem to get best results if i rinse/wet hair before adding DT and then leave on for hours, using microhaircap with other additions (e.g.) woollen hat over plastic cap (keeps heat in).... then i rinse out in the shower and this seems to cleanse hair.... will only use something else if there is hairline buildup
(btw i know people will think all this heat this sounds crazy but my hair loves it and it seems to be keeping it clean.... i don't think that the yolk will cause protein problems.... or if it did i should have noticed by now)
4) putting a little bit of oil or some conditioner on ends at night time if not doing a treatment....... when i say little i mean lightly spritzing and or rubbing some coconut oil in palms and then brushing lightly on ends (i would ideally do this every night but probably won't happen)
5) shampoo only when necessary - ideally not more than every 1-2 weeks but may be necessary more often if there is buildup in hairline
6) protective styling when possible
7) sleeping w- satin bonnet and satin pillowcases

find a good winter routine.... when i'm done experimenting and have more $ perhaps can get cornrows or something done.... definitely plan on extensions for when it's really cold b/c i plan on wearing lots hats etc and don't want hair to be damaged.... and also want to have a good protective style for growth
9) perhaps i should line my winter hats that have snagging fibers?
10) Vitamins - have not started this yet
Any suggestions/ critique?
