Locs, Twists and Afros come out so on point. I love it. Once you learn what moisturizers work for your hair... the hair comes out sooooooo soft. omg it SOAKS up moisture.
The 4b puff looks oh so fly. The 4A parts of my hair look like frizzy curls where as the 4b parts make cute puffs.
When I part my hair... THERE'S MORE HAIR!!! I've even learned to LOVE my thick hair!

So true! And I love it. The one time I actually spent the time to do a decent set of twists, I definitely didn't have to worry about any parts showing. And the twistout was just freakin' juicy.
Yay for 4b hair!

I don't know about anyone else, but my scalp feels more sensitive now that I have my hair natural. So not only is it nice to let people play with my fro (and be shocked and awed by its softness), but it feels nice on my scalp.

It's just so different from what I normally see. And the versatility is ridiculous! I know a girl with 4b hair, and she does everything: twists, braids, twistouts, bantu knot outs, her unmanipulated kinky fro, and a huge blown out fro. It complements her beautiful face nicely. =) I love hair.

It draws people in. They want to gaze at it, touch it, smell it... It's sexy and people can't help themselves, especially when I wear it loose and free in a big chunky fro. But watch out! I can't be letting just everyone touch Sexy She-Panther so you got to back up!

That's actually a really good question. I have 4a/4b hair but if I put in a leave in (and I mean really put it in, work it through and mess up the coil pattern) it's more fro-ey than coily. I had a young white woman look at my hair once and say, "your hair is nice. My niece is biracial and I like that hair more..." .
So how do you like your hair when others tell you that others types of Black hair look better? I can style it like this:
That's what's good about 4b hair.

I want my hair to be like that someday.
And that woman is dumb. How on earth did she think that was proper at all? I wouldn't dream of going to some brunette white woman and telling her that my blonde friend's hair was prettier, just because it was blonde.
Edit: I definitely forgot to say why I love 4b hair, which was why I came on this topic in the first place :/
I have to say versatility. Like someone else said, the shrinkage is awesome. My sister has been natural for a while now and I have seen her hair vary in length in the course of a couple of days.

Everyone has given so many good reasons...but I think versatility is definitely at the top. I love shocking people with my hair...some days its a twist out, other days a huge fro, then shrinkage back down to 2 inches. You can always keep them guessing...

I wonder if this is why my fro looks so stupid? It fluffs out right up to nose length (stretched)..then FLOP it goes. LOL

I love that my 4c hair defies all heights. At first, I was always trying to tame it. But now I love how people's eyes just keep traveling up and up as they try to figure out how my hair stays that high I am definitely known as the girl with the big hair now.
And I love how my twist outs look. I always get compliments on them becasue they are so full.

It looks so soft like you can sleep in it. Like a perfect cloud. I'm in love with big fluffy clouds, so yeah. And it looks like pure cotton.

4b twists
I agree with surburbanbushbabe.
Twists are my favourite hairstyle. I absolutely love them! They work well with my 4b hair. However, my 3c patch at the back of my head will not hold the twists properly they keep ravelling undone. My 4b hair holds the twists wonderfully.

I always loved my hair but ever since I was in beauty school and people used to step all over everyone else to get to my 4b hair, I knew I had something special. LOL! 4b hair holds a style like no other.

type 4 hair has hold and volume.
yes i have seen some type 4 women with perfect twists that stay in place.
on the other hand i find it hard to twist or braid my purely natural damp hair because my hair moves by itself and slips out of the braid or the braids/ follicles move all over the place. so the types of sets i can do have to be firm (until hair dries) like banding, bantu knot outs or roller sets.
so i guess some type 4 hair is better for twist/ braid sets.

the best freakin fro's in the world. I personally think 3c fros suck, 4a fros are pretty good too. but 4b tops them all!

What's Good About It
It's what you are born with God Don't Make Mistakes.
I don't have 4b but for what I can tell it can hold small twist, unlike my 4a I must make my twists big in order for them to stay straight, 4b stands up while my 4a . droops. I think 4b hair is beautiful.
