I thought it was funny that someone mentioned about hair being finicky... I won't lie, my hair is finicky, just like me.

On the subject of the Avocado Cream, the smell was fine with me, but I didn't really smell anything in it. I would like it to have a nicer fragrance, or better, smell like the Mango Capaucu Butter (yummy!). Otherwise, no complaints.

I left my hair in braids for 3 days, then I rocked a 5 day braidout... I kid you all not! I didn't even realize it until I went out yesterday and had people compliment me on my hair and asked about it. All I did was spritz with water and scrunched in some more of the avocado cream to refresh when needed. To be fair, I baggy at night also, but still I loved it!
I think I must have gotten a bad batch since everyone has said it moisturizes their hair. On my hair, it made it dry as the sahara desert, like it was missing some important ingredient, no slip, no smoothness, nothing. And the oil is separating from the butters.I tried to use it as a hand cream and my hands were only moist for 5 minutes, then dry as bone. Anyway I gave it to my husband for his feet.

Well I finally tried the Moisturizing masque. I didn't like the smell out of the container but on my hair it was great. It's soooo darn thick like the old formula of DPR-11. Rinsing it out was a major pain! Hot water did nothing...but eventually I got it all out. My hair came out really soft and moisturized like everyone else has said.

The only problem is that my scalp was on fire, but only certain parts. Not sure why though. Overall give it a thumbs up, I just can't use it anymore

I don't know what is wrong but the second jar of the cupuacu mango butter isn't the same as the first one. The scent, color, and consistency is totally different. It seems more watered down now and it isn't working in my daughter's hair like the last jar.

I'm not going to lie, I really wanted these products to work but, being a pj, I know that a lot of things people rave about here are not for me.

I started by using the Avocado Cleansing Cream.
It did not lather but I'm used to the AO shampoos so it wasn't a biggie.

I followed the instructions, although I don't need to section my hair and massaged it onto my scalped. It felt really nice and rinsed out well.

I followed up with the Moisturizing Hair Masque.
It did not give me the slip I am used to and it almost disapeared into my hair. I combed it through and went on my usual shower business.

I rinsed it out and my hair did feel very moisterized.
I looked in the mirror and was surprised to see definition and shine.

I was too happy.
I slapped some Whipped Avocado Cream in my hair, meaning I did not shingle, plop, twist or otherwise manipulate my frizzy head.

I have to say, WOW, this was my best hairday since before my transition.

I did not get the curls and coils I get with KCCC but I didn't need it, my S's where defined and my curls shiny, with minimal shrinkage and absolutely gunk-feeling free!

This morning I tried the Carrot Protein Masque and followed upp with coconut oil and Mango Holding butter and I love them too. Unfortunately I had to run out so I pulled my hair into a puff but it feels great.

I'm sold.
I have be looking for a good "shampoo" and so far Avocado Cleansing Cream wins.

I also loved the smell. Being that I'm used to AO commercial scents are sickly sweet nowdays.

So far so good!

Updates...

The Mango Cupaucu Holding Butter produced a FABULOUS braidout! I worked in some Giovanni Direct Leave-In, and the sectioned off my hair and applied the holding butter and braided.

I left the braids in for a little over 24 hours.

The Whipped Avocado Cream is wonderful...I just wish the scent was different. I have a 16oz jar, and I'm going to get over the smell, because it really penetrates my hair...and it's because there's no shea in it.

Shea butter products tend to sit on my hair, and sometimes they sink in over a few days, and sometimes they don't.

Why dont ya'll like the Whipped avocado creams scent? What exactly does it smell like? My sample jar is a cream, not a butter and smells like baby powder and lingers as well. I like the results with it and I also love the Mango Cupuacu butter but I'm worried about these consistency and scent issues.

For me, it is odd that the other 3 products I tried had a lighter fresher scent that semi-faded, and yet the whipped avocado cream is scented with a heavy floral cloying scent (to me). For me, I just cannot enjoy heavy, lingering floral scents.

There was another product from another brand (that I can't quite recall...I want to say Cantu) that worked wonderfully on my hair, but the scent was awful. In the trash it went.

For me, the scent will determine if I continue to use/buy a product.

The avo cream is a sickening floral scent that gave me a headache AND my jar was not a cream, it was a butter AND the oils came to top when it got soft. Ny husband uses it for his feet. But try it for yourself!

I don't know...I just don't like it. It's a heavy, floral type scent, that just doesn't smell good to me.

Mine is floral scented ; not baby powder and it lingers.
It seems to be a whipped butter not a cream ( at least the one I have ).
It absorbs well, I love it.

She must have changed it right after my order because i have a strong baby powder scent. I think i'll pass on it for now.

I think depending on one's nose, the jar I have could have a somewhat baby powder scent mixed in with the floral. I smell floral first, then some other note that I don't like.

All I know is that when I think of avocado, I was hoping for something with a more natural/light scent.

I just wish it smelled like the Holding Butter. I HATE floral scents.

The scent of the avocado cream doesn't bother me too much. I think it is light enough and not very overpowering.

I tried the moisturizing mask today for the first time. It does remind me of the ElastaQP DPR for its consistency. It seemed to work well (similar to DPR). Nothing amazing, but I could see myself ordering it again when I run out of my other DCs, especially since the DPR has changed its formula. I do think it is better than the Darcy's Botanicals deep conditioner, but that is because I like really thick DCs and the DB one is a little thinner.

I love these products. This past Sunday I cowashed, DC with the moisturizing mask, and two strand twist it with the butter. Monday morning I took the twist out and rocked a twist out. 4 days later this is what I got:

I'm very careful with my products as I'm a uber PJ. Has anyone noticed the color of their whipped avocado cream changing just on the top. I can only liken it to how a banana ripens and it gets a little brown on top.

The color of the WAC is a light green but it's a reddish brown hue on the very top edges.

What's the shelflife? It still smells the same. It just looks slightly different. I keep everything in a closed dark drawer.
