I got my first period when he was 10 months old. I bf'd until about that time and he switched to formula in a sippy cup. Once he got a taste of mobility and milk at the same time he had no more use for me. He didn't start solids until about 6 or 7 months, but we weren't consistent about when he got solid food. Some days he would and others he refused.

I didn't get a period after my second son because I had an IUD. He nursed until a week before his 3rd birthday (most of that last year of nursing was only for nap time and bed time).

I don't remember teeth being too much of a problem, but I might have blocked it out too! I just remember when they were around 5 or 6 months old and when we were nursing something would startle them and they'd jerk their head in the direction of the sound. That hurt. But I don't remember being bitten.
