Well, I worked and pumped, but breastfed on demand when I wasn't at work. My period returned ~10 mos. pp the first time and ~9 mos. pp the second time. While it did not affect actual nursing, I found it more difficult to pump after my period returned. At that age with both kids, I was working 3 days a week, so I began to supplement with a formula bottle on those days. They were eating mashed up table foods at that point, too, so I had them take their solids when I was at work.

Max nursed for 33 months (I think) and Maya for 17. I would have liked to continue a bit longer with her, but she was an avid biter and weaned easily.

I am considering weaning my bonus baby after a year as I can never lose the last 10- 15 lb. until I wean. I guess it will depend somewhat on him, though.
